So tonight I went out put the key in & turned it.... the truck started but I have no electronics, NONE!. This renders the truck inoperable. Does anyone know what could cause this? I recently had a recall issue with the front sensor (1 week ago) with not issues since.

What I find real strange is that if I start the truck with the remote start (12Volt Solutions) the computer will boot up. as soon as I put my key in and turn it, all electronics shut down but the truck continues to run. What the hell could this be?

That sounds like your key isn’t turning all the way back to run . Sounds like it’s sticking between run and start .

Well, I pulled the 12Volt Solutions Remote starter and that fixed it. What a pain. I have had it in the truck without any issues for over a year. They still haven't replied to any of my requests & I certainly can't wait as I need the truck to work.

Did you install any other electronics recently that could mess with it? I’ve had a different brand remote start for 2 years, but mine just started acting up this year.

No. I do have a lot of aftermarket parts but they have all been installed for a while. I did recently have my Morimoto Headlights fail as well. Guess that is the problem with aftermarket parts... It's also why I keep all of my factory parts. I am back to factory headlights until Morimoto designs new wiring harness. :angrygirl:

What do you mean by having no electronics? Do the gauges (fuel, volt, little computer mpg display, etc.) work?
Are you talking about radio or heater, accessories, etc.

Everything you mentioned +. The interior of the vehicle acted as though truck was off. The motor & power steering were operational but the transmission was locked.

Sounds like the remote starter may have some relays that are not working or not re-energizing and disconnecting some of the electronics.
Just a wild guess as far as relays ... I don't have any experience with any remote starter.

How did you pull the remote starter off? Is it a module you insert somewhere and can easily bypass?

It is a plug & play module. I have actually really enjoyed having it. I used it all of time. I believe it is out of warranty so it probably won't be putting it back into the vehicle. As it was $400 I do not intend on purchasing a second one. It's a bummer but that has always been the problem with aftermarket parts. :(
