Installed it today. Only got 15 mins driving around and I love it!! City +4 is awesome! Can’t wait to try sport and sport +. If you are on the fence about getting one don’t hesitate and pick one up!!

Had one of these on my 2020 Tundra since around mid-January. This was the best thing I ever had up until about 2 months ago. My truck started having issues where it wouldn't start, it would just crank for a few seconds then stop, or it would start, then stall, or it would be perfectly fine. The dealer had my truck for 4 days and couldn't find any issues and blamed it on the pedal commander. Then one night last week, nothing but errors and malfunctions showing up when I started my truck and also CEL. I had a pre-collision system malfuction, trailer brake error, and some sort of manual brake override. On top of that I got a message about something with the throttle pedal position (P2121) and my truck wouldn't move. Press the gas pedal and nothing happened. Since then, I've unplugged the pedal commander and have had no issues since, its been about a week. Sucks that this thing caused so many issues for me and I hate driving it now without it. Has anyone else experienced any issues like this?

Googled it and found out vehicles from other manufacturers were having the same issue and some resolved it by reconnecting and making sure it's making a good connection or contacting Pedal Commander for a replacement.

 

I just installed this last night on my 2019 sr5......have it on city +2 and it really wakes up the truck. Throttle response is definitive. Had the sprint booster for my 4runner because i cant stand the acceleration lag. This helps a lot and makes the truck much more responsive.

 

Just wanted to update; had some surging while driving the other day. I emailed pedal commander customer support and they promptly got back to me. Sent me an update and Larry was kind enough to call me and follow up and offer assistance. I won’t use any other product because of their attention to their customers - much appreciated Larry

 

Got mine installed today and I can't believe the difference it makes! City plus3 left a big number 11 on my driveway with no effort Sport mode is just ridiculous but so much fun....haven't tried sport + yet out of fear.

Tow haul mode will not operate your transmission on the last two (5th and 6th) overdrive gears. Final drive ratio in 4th gear is 4:30 excellent for towing, lots of torque.
Tow haul is designed to use when towing heavy loads, it changes your transmission shift points (and throttle mapping) and will automatically downshift a gear when you tap the brake pedal.This is to assist in slowing the truck down with some engine braking when towing. A life saver if driving down a mountain pass.
If you drive your truck every day with that fun button on with no heavy load behind you...you will stop once you see how much more fuel your burning due to the over drive gears not kicking in. Reason for this is to not put a strain (while towing) on the engine while going uphill. Imagine riding your bike uphill on a "hard" gear. Same thing.
In a nutshell, daily driving Tow Haul without a heavy load will use up more fuel even if you drive like a granny.

I swapped my PC into my wife’s lifted 4Runner for a trip this weekend (same model #PC27) and she loves it so I just ordered one for her for Christmas.

 

Just do it!... Sport+2 is my daily driver, and I'm never looking back. Have fun, life is too short.

Thats awesome! I relabeled Sport+ to "Joe Biden" mode, its super touchey and felt like someone was sniffing my hair as I was blasted back into my seat.

Banks unit is flawless. And it works on my 4runner too

 

My pedal commander has been flawless, but I set it and left it alone. I also do not use the bluetooth function on it.

 

I had a few problems with the pedal commander - the most annoying being the surging issue. Their customer service was great but wouldn’t support my unit because I bought it used. Worked flawlessly for a year and a half and then the surging issue happened and they wouldn’t remedy because the warranty doesn’t transfer. It also put my truck in limp mode a few times - once it was disconnected and I cleared the codes it would work fine. after researching it was a known issue. I wasn’t comfortable using it after that so I bought the banks and haven’t had an issue in two years. If you are looking to cure the throttle lag I would highly recommend the banks over the pedal commander
