@jmevis.... have you done any off roading at all? I want to take my pro to Colorado but with this CB kit is it made for off roading as well. I bought 295/70/18 falken wildpeak at3w and everyone said it was fine, but its rubbing so either i go back to stock tires size or buy this kit. But i wanted to see if people has off road with this kit. I'm not talking about super extreme just lite off road

Check the build link in my signature.
Where are you getting the rubbing? I just got that same tires on mine and the only thing I encountered was the inside bolt head on the front mud flaps running a little. I’m not running wheel spacers at all... which I believe helps. If anything, you’d likely only need the bumper shim... I just pulled my front mud flaps off.

@RainMan_PNW ... its rubbing here on both sides. I decided im going to return these tires i plan on doing light off road and these tires takes to much of the wheel well. You lose to much clearance. I dont want to lift my pro either, its perfect the way it came. Check your lower arms and be careful, i was warned and went against what people said. Also if you live in the cold watch your psi drop, the flatter the tires gets, it expand and will hit your uca. Im going back to stock or maybe 275/70/18.

I have the CB 3” rear shackles ,
3” EXT Kings up front . The CB bump stops were too high and I lost a lot of articulation . I took them back off. I think you can just lube that broken bolt and drill it in and it will screw out the other side if its open below it.

@PeakIT... after talking with many people that have the CB kit and people who has 295/70/18 with out the kit. I've decided to go back to stock tires, i will be off-roading and the CB kit no one can tell me long term and 295 just fills up the wheel well to much and not ideal for off roading. One fellow member said to me... the pro can handle medium to lite trails. No need to mess with it unless your going extreme. He had 295 on a stock pro and he damage some parts of his 2020 pro.

You need a wheel spacer or wheels with a more aggressive offset. I have the stock pro wheels with 1.25” bora spacers. No rubbing.

@LT75. Yes I've read that also. Alot of people are telling me to stay away from spacers, because it transfers weight around. So i decided to keep all stock. With aggressive tires. Thx for all your input i really appreciate it

I hope someone can help me... I recently bought a 2016 TRD from a friend. He put the Coachbuilder kit on. It currently has 25K miles and now the tie rods need to be replaced? I don't know too much, but does anyone know why tie rods would need to be replaced at 25K miles? The only think I can think of, as it's possibly a result of the Coachbuilder kit? Thanks in advance!

That kit is only in 1 inch lift. Shouldn’t really affect it unless the grease escaped somehow. Did he mess with them while installing the coachbuilder kit?

Thanks for the response. I don't believe so, but still waiting to hear back from him. Another buddy looked and said I may need bigger control arms? Does this make sense? I'm definitely clueless on this. Thanks

On my 2018 platinum with a 3 inch lift I changed the control arms to SPC. But on my 2019 Trd pro I left the control arms the same with the Coachbuilder lift. A 1” lift should not affected it. But every truck is different.

I definitely heard the popping on mine as well. My brother is a mechanic and when throwing up on the rack, he's telling me they need to be replaced. He made the comment that tie rods shouldn't need to be replaced especially at 25K miles. So the only think I could think of is possibly a result of the Coachbuilder kit, or with the mechanic that installed it?

All I did was take the nut off. Pull it out grease it and tighten it back down and it went away just fine.

I just received the same exact setup. Did you ride change at all after the 35s and or the installation of the setup? I love the quality of this ride and want to make sure it does not change. Thanks so much in advance and great job.

I was wondering if the TRD skid plate still pinned (via the push clips) into the bumper after you added the shims?

How are the Bora spacers treating you? any issues? you wheel it super hard or just more mellow stuff?

how does the coachbuilder kit achieve 1 inch of lift on the front if the shims themselves aren't 1" thick? Mine is sitting in the garage and im curious.

It has to do with triangulation between the upper shock mount, the lower shock mount on the lower control arm and the distance from that lower mount to where your wheel mounts.

Huh. Interesting. Im contemplating going for some eibach trd pro specific springs instead of the shim to get the front lifted. Thanks for the info

Hey, Did you go with the shim or springs? What do you plan on for the rear?

@Petergoose1 I went with the Eibach front springs, coachbuilder steering kit, bump stop extensions. Thats the front.

Rear, I did coachbuilder +3 shackle and the carrier bearing drop kit.

I get the truck back either tomorrow or tuesday. The shop its at doesnt have a ball joint press tool, so I had them install the shackle with the oem bushing in the leafs. I will be swapping in the coachbuilder ones in about a week and a half once I get back from a trip. Ill throw some photos up here once thats done and the truck sits how it will long term.
