They are adjustable, and filter tanks work best when the pressure never drops below 40 psi. Also, you may want to account for the 4 psi of pressure drop each tank results in.

The farthest, upstairs toilet now flushes properly without having to hold the handle down :fistbump: and it doesn’t take a half hour to fill the tub! Thanks

Hi Rex thanks for doing this! On well water and water quality good! Have a secondary feed from "city" water that I haven't hooked up yet - quality has been iffy so would like to put in a whole house filter - what would you recommend for this? Will be putting in a couple of double back flows one on each feed to prevent cross contamination. Any other recommendations - ph a little low 6.69 @ last test! Thanks

@Rex Kramer I live in AZ where the water is pretty hard. I recently had a plumber out to fix a few things, and he tried to sell me on an electric water softener system (I currently have a salt system). Thoughts on the electric one? Do they actually work?

Apologies in advance if this was covered earlier in the thread, I haven’t gone through every page yet...

A whole house carbon filter and softener plus a U.V. light may be all you need, but keep an eye out for blue green stains where water drips. I f you see blue green stains, you will also need an acid neutralizer.

I have yet to find any method that actually softens water without using resin and salt, stick with what you have.

    Death by Iron.

This afternoon's service call involved replacing a 27 year old RainSoft softener with a modern metered softener that has High mesh resin to better handle the Iron.

I can normally repair these valves locally, but this one was beyond repair.

@Rex Kramer I'm not sure if this type of unit has been discussed, have you heard of Pentair Pelican? If so would you recommend it? TIA.

I am a Pentair dealer, but I don't deal in their lower end products - that's not the segment of the market I cater to.

I have found that the Fleck 2510 SXT control valve on a Vortech tank is the best combination for your money.

Good morning, we are looking into different options for water softener, this company Pacific Water solutions is offering a system with Clack premium control valve..have you heard of it? Thank you.

Clack is decent... I still prefer Fleck 2510 SXT

I just added this valve for filtered water because our fridge only makes ice.
Works really good and only cost $33.00

This is the filter I use for ice and water. Is it adequate?

    Hi,

we developed a leak in our water softener over the weekend and thought I would bring it up here.

We have the GE GXSF40H02 water softener - probably a lower end unit based on some previous posts I've read.

Its leaking water from what appears to be the water softener valve body, best I can tell.

From some online trouble shooting, it appears a seal kit might correct the problem.

Just wanted to see if you have ran into this before or may suggest something different.

    Thanks for your time.

I prefer an NSF certified (53) carbon block filter, but what you have is better than nothing at all.

A clear picture or two would be very helpful.

Dry it off, then photograph where the water is leaking from.

What under sink system do you recommend for one person for drinking water that won't break the bank? Prefer buying on Amazon if possible and not overly complicated to install.

Is that too much too ask for LOL

    thanks and great Post

That is the seal between the tank and valve... it may even be a cracked tank. Bypass the filter.

This video should show you how to remove and reinstall the control valve.

5600 works, just make sure it has the SXT digital controls.

Thanks for the recommendation. Wife has been saying she doesn’t like the taste of the water from our existing filter. Ordered this setup last night. Hoping it will give great tasting water.

    Excellent!
    Did you use Distributor # 114579 ?
There is still time to call Multi-Pure and give them that ID number.
