One question, do I keep this metal plate thing under my leaf springs or everything comes out for new Deaver Springs?

 

deaver AAL? technically you remove it. but if your going to be hauling weight, youd want to keep it. i did the Icon 3 leaf add a leaf and kept it. that is the stock overload spring

The Deaver packs do not have overload springs, this is because they’re designed to flex more. You do lose some capacity but likely not much being it’s a 10 leaf setup

 

I asked Deaver to make these medium duty vs their reg light duty so should be decent.

Rear end is lower than the front now by half an inch. Gotta remove the total chaos shackles or figure something else out. I don’t get it, I was expecting to be much higher in the rear

 

How much lift did Deaver say you were supposed to get? What's your measurement from the center of the hub to the fender?

 

1 1/2” lift but the total chaos shackles lower the lift by 3/4”. Only measured ground to fender which is 36”. It was 36 1/2” before.

Good thing to come out of this is my front is more level now. Went from about 1” difference to 3/4”. Looking forward to seeing how the truck sits once I get the driver side leaf springs installed as well. Ive come to realize I need to stop panicking at ever turn till the entire suspension is in

 

Think the shackles are what is throwing my rear end lift off. Comparing stock vs the total chaos shackles which are supposed to lower the rear 3/4”.... the holes are 2” apart. The leafs have a 1 1/2” lift and I lost half an inch after install. Maybe they sent me the wrong shackles?...

 

Any way to put the old ones back on? Your new leafs will probably settle a little bit from what I’ve read from the really cool suspension guys threads.

 

Im planning to. Want to call total chaos just to double check I have the correct shackles. I’ll install the driver side tonight to see if both sides are same. Then I’ll replace with stock shackles and see what lift I get.

 

Probably the right shackles, they're quite a bit longer than stock but they sit at an angle so the length isn't the total of what your truck is lowered. The math is too hard for me, I slept through geometry class.

Driver: 35 7/8“
Passenger: 35 3/4”

Front;
Driver: 36 1/4”
Passenger: 36 1/2”

If removing the total chaos shackles nets me 3/4” Lift in the rear... I couldn’t ask for more. Pretty perfect

 

Survey says... old shackles back on!

 

Installed stock shackles and the rear lifted up to 37” both sides. Nice and even, gained over an inch.

And.... 285/75R16 KO2’s are here. Sweet
