Finally got the new trans pan installed. Praying to god that I put the FIPG on right and it doesn't leak. My bead didn't look nearly as pretty as the write up. I'll post a picture of the old transmission filter if anyone cares but there isn't really much to see. I couldn't find any metal shavings in it either. I'm really not convinced there is a good reason to ever drop the pan unless you have to because you're an idiot like me.

 

Did you snug those Valve Body Bolts?

 

Yes sir. Only 2 were ever so slightly loose. It's really kind of neat to see that area. I don't understand how those wires and plugs can be submerged in 150-200 degree fluid for 18 years but they looked new. Aisin must build a damn good transmission.

 

It's too painful to relive.


I FUBAR'd the drain plug on the original pan.

 

Replaced the MAF sensor. Honestly don’t know if the old one is original and/or even bad but figured it’s cheap preventative maintenance.
Bought on Amazon but it doesn’t have anything scratched off of it and looks identical.

 

Can I lift the back end of an 06 DC 1" with stock shocks, or do I need new rear shocks? I'm pretty sure the leaf springs are original and have some sag so part of me thinks with 1" I may just be getting it a little over stock anyway.

Eventually I'll get new leafs, this is just to get rid of the bro squat for now.

 

The early gens MAF look different. You could put a Multimeter on the old one and test for spec as well as with the new one.

 

From what others have reported, Bilstein 5100 shocks will add about 1in to the height.

 

1) Installed new Bosch Wipers.

2) Discovered that my Katana Bulbs do have micro fans! Thats the little whirring sound I thought was the alternator. I swear they said fanless when I bought them. They are quiet and small fans (more so than the priors) and because I didn’t realize it assumed wrongly.

Katana does make a new fan less bulb.

 

I'm unsure if anyone here has tried the fanless units...
When I return to Toy headlight housings, I guess I'll be the lab rat

Pacesetter hi-flo cats
Merge into a single 3”
Borla Pro-XS muffler (40359)
Vibrant Ultra-Quiet resonator (1142)
Bedside exit w/4” double-wall tip (still mulling over bezel options that don’t involve a bolt-on or billet look)

Gotta order some O2 sensor cable extensions and downstream simulators from URD and I’m set.

On a related note, I’m selling a used Borla Cat-Back exhaust for 04-06 Tundra Double Cab (14852)

Changed out 3 out of 4 door check mechanisms. The doors were flopping around and didn't want to stay in place when opened. $tealer wanted $95 each, so off to auction world I went.

This was the last of the 3 doors. I bought some used Sequoia rears from ePray and sure enough, the lengths of the arms are not compatible. Not a worry, they can be disassembled. I swapped out the wrong arm with the original one from mine.

I discovered that these things are interchangeable (right or left side). Based on the markings on a single arm, one side is RR, and the other is RL (rear right, rear left). You just flip it over to use it on the other side of the car!



Had to take the speakers out to pull the mechanism out. It was a good thing, since the screws holding in the speaker were loose on all 4 doors. Tightened them back down good. No more speaker rattling.



Used some blue painters tape to block the hole underneath those screws. I managed to drop one nut, and was lucky enough to fish it out. That's not going to happen a 2nd time!

 

Ready to slip and slide! Thanks to @skywalker474 for holding onto the sliders for me and a few buddies who transported it from San Diego to southern Arizona. Fit and finish is top knotch, a lot of thought went into the mounting points and bolt washers, i was kinda impressed! They are heavy@ 70# each......

 

I really need to get a set.... maybe when I get this camry sold I’ll order some.

 

Also when I was looking it seemed impossible to find gear oil that didn't have the LSD additive already in it. Check the labels at your auto parts store. In fine print it very well may say "includes limted slip additive" or whatever. The Mobil 1 and Valvoline synthetics do/did at least.

 

It’s got a lot more volume than the previous Borla touring cat-back I had on there. While I got the more throaty sound I was hoping for, it has a fair amount of drone on the freeway. The merge to a single 3” was a gamble for me, hoped the resonator would cure most rasp/drone concerns—not so. Deep and throaty in the city, but I’ll sound dampen the floor and see how how I feel about the drone after that.

Huge difference in low-end torque. Achieving that was the main goal before I weigh her down with bumpers in the spring.

Nice. I gotta get my rear drivers side door replaced. The door will shut itself on the slightest of incline. The others are still fine.

 

So, recommend the long tubes? I’m pretty set on them.. it’s just being ok with the price (unless I do the air pump disable on my 05, they’re like 1200).

 

Not gonna lie, if a matching one in white popped up for my AC under $300-400, I'd jump on it. It'd probably spend most of its life off the truck, but having it for various reasons would be awesome.

 

looks sweet thought Anyone have to cut this little piece to fit 33s? Seems its the only thing that hits. But i also havent drove it yet

how much lift? Probably needs to trim.

 

Not sure the lift because I used DC 4x4 struts up front but it gave me around an inch. Im at 21.5

Professional hand models height i think, But these tires are alittle more nobby
