Has anyone had to aim their Morimoto XB led lights? I put my lights on today and one side is lower than it should be. I have been told there are adjustment screws in the back. I guess you have to take the light back off to get to them. Is there any other way.

You should be able to access from the top with a long skinny Phillips screw driver without removing. I have read on here multiple people not realizing this until after the fact of ripping the headlight out and adjusting 10+ times.

let me see if I can find better details, but I suggest popping the hood and looking down into the back of the headlight, there should be a space there for the screw driver to fit in and hit the adjusting screw.

    cheers,

are you talking about driver side ? because it is usually lower than passenger as not to blind driver in front of you. unless it's really low.

The passenger side is 2 ft. lower than the driver side.

Adjustment is almost the same. Its been a while since I have my '12 so can't quite remember, but I believe you can still reach them with a wrench from above.

when I installed my XB head lights I noticed my drivers side was low by about a foot or so. just get the long Philips screw driver and just start turning. it takes a couple minutes but you'll notice movement right away. I can't remember which direction, but it won't harm it. I adjusted them on the truck and definitely do it at night.

I went and took a quick picture of alpharex housing adjustment. looks something like this.
theres two adjusters one for horizontal adjustment and another for vertical. just start spinning it and you will start to see it move after a few turns

8mm wrench to the little white nut that’s totally accessible without removing. Counterclockwise to raise.

i also bought the $95 hilux wire harness off ebay and added manual level control. remember the instructions say do not turn more than three full revolutions or you can leave the assembly in a state where they may not adjust anymore. i turned both sides until they were level so one side wasn't turned too much. good luck.

8mm and completely accessible without pulling them. Passenger side is a little tighter.

I recently bought Morimoto XB LED Headlights & Fog Lights for my 17 Tundra Platinum CrewMax (I have a 3” lift w/33s on 20” rims).
    1. How do I adjust Headlights horizontally? It seems like the field of view is narrow. Hardly can see road when making a 90 degree turn onto a 2-lane road.
    2. Fog lights are almost non-visible. Seem to be very low. How do I aim these?
    3. I’m also getting issues with headlights where the DRL on one side goes off when I use turn signal. It also goes off when i turn off vehicle while other DRL stays on until I hit lock, then both go off like they should.
    4. The other DRL is dimmer, but works fine.
Any ideas on what’s causing issues? How to fix?

You do it with a long philips screw driver. It engages the gear ring shown in the pics above. The philip acts as a gear to turn the ring.
Do it at night and you will see which way moves the light up or down.

@Headlight Revolution. The DRL becomes the turn signal when activated. Can you post a video of your issues? What fuse spot are you plugged into? Of one DRL is dimmer, it might be a warranty issue but we need to see your connections.

    DRL brightness difference.jpg DRL Fuse Location.jpg DRL On_Off Issue.jpgLights FOV.jpg

    @Headlight Revolution

Top Left: Driver's side DRL is brighter than Passenger's side DRL
    Top Right: DRL fuse location
Bottom left: Driver's side DRL not working when vehicle is turned off, but ignition is in the "On" position (Both DRLs work when vehicle is running)
Bottom Right: Lights seem to be a narrow field of view (How do I adjust horizontally?)

How do I fix these issues? Or, is there a warranty problem? I have some difficulty seeing a 2-lane road when making a 90 degree turn onto one because of the narrow light path.

Fog lights are on in bottom right pic. They seem to be really low. Are these adjustable vertically? Toyota actually installed the Fog lights for me. They just seem to be shining lower than the factory halogen fogs were.

I will look at mine to see where its plugged in. Can you swap your lights to opposite side? I want to see if the dimness followed the passenger side light or if it stays on the passenger side after you know the fuse tap power lead up to it. That would narrow it down to the pass side light or the power to it I. The fuse tap.

Does the the other side DRL go away and amber turn signal work when activated? Did you have DRL's on your factory lights? I had to replace the factory relay on my 16' to make the DRL's work with turn signals. I only had the amber bulb DRL from factory. Might not be the issue but just raising the question. Good luck fixing the issue, I love these lights myself.

Can you shoot us an email on this one? I'm thinking this is most likely a DRL harness issue which we'd be happy to replace! we're happy to help out with troubleshooting over email, that'll be the fastest way for us to get back to you! :) We'll get to the bottom of this one. As far as the fog lights go, they are adjustable! You'll need to peel back the fenderliner on each side and turn the wheel in different directions to have better access to them. From there, you can pivot the fog light in it's bracket up or down and adjust as needed! :)

Turned out that it was a messed up light set. Warranty replacements work great. I also had to adjust lights so the dial next to steering wheel would properly raise/lower beam projection. I was getting high beamed multiple times a day with the dial turned to the lowest angled beam setting. Once I adjusted lights, the dial adjustment worked great. I have it set on 3 and blind no one even at a 3” lift.

May I bother you for a picture of the new light spread?

And do you know if there even is a horizontal adjustment?

    (thanks for the help!)

I dont believe the offsets from L and R headlights should be this close. What does any "expert" think?

Mine are similar. But prob not as bad as yours. Im not sure there is horizontal adjustment. I’ll post a pic of mine tonight when it gets dark. I like mine. Took some getting used to though.

Looks good! If anything, you could separate them a little bit for more width, but that's entirely up to your preference! :) There is no real proper layout for width, it's whatever you're most comfortable with! Closer together will strengthen your hotspot, giving you more distance vision down the road. Widening it out will allow for more side-to-side vision!

It's the vertical adjustment that you want to have dialed in properly, and yours looks great!
