P0441 & P0455

Hey friends,

2005 Sequoia, SR5, 4x4, 182k, meticulously maintained.

while wife was driving the CEL, VSC OFF, and VSC TRAC came on. Hooked up my OBDII and pulled codes P0441 & P0455. I did do some digging and see that the gas cap had been an issue, it was filled recently, but had been driven probably 3 or 4 times and sitting at 3/4 tank, cap seemed fine when I checked it. Anyways, the scanner let me clear the codes and I started it back up and idled it to temp 3 times now with no recurring codes. Have you seem this before? Is it likely it just caught something for a split second, or am I likely going to start seeing it come back and if so where should I start on that rabbit trail??

Also, if it matters I live in a cold/dry environment and the season has just started changing rapidly, getting below freezing now and very dry, the vehicle is kept in a 60* garage.

Buy a new Toyota Gas Cap ($20) and put it on. They do wear out over time and throw codes. Happened to me a while back and a new cap fix the problem. Its suggested to install new caps 5-10 years.

I had the same issue and codes.
replaced my cap with the one below and all is good now.
