press any button afterwards takes it out of standby. I think officially is called battery saver mode. This turns off the constant pinging to the truck when nearby.

Anyone figured out if the touchpad works on Tundra models older than 2019?

If you change the year model in the link @g6t9ed posted to 2018, it still shows this keypad as an option under options..

    http://mobile.accessories.setbuyatoyota.com/list/Tundra/2018/5220/

    Or even 2016

    http://mobile.accessories.setbuyatoyota.com/list/Tundra/2016/5220/

    Or even 2012

    http://mobile.accessories.setbuyatoyota.com/list/Tundra/2012/5220/

Not sure if that means it will work in those year models.

This PDF clearly shows what wires and connectors the harness is connected to.
If your older truck has these connectors and the same color wires on the designated pins, I don't see why it wouldn't work.

    https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1gTd3eIdG-rEYpk2kqFagzO8p3TQMe-hG

I have no need for it, I'm just curious if it works in older models..

Update - I just got my truck back from the repair shop and have just been lazy on installing it or haven't had time (choose an excuse). I'll get to it probably by this weekend as I got nothing to lose at this point (since I bought the kit and all).
Here's hoping.:fingerscrossed: If anyone else gets to it before me, please update!

Well, you guys couldn't have had a more incompetent guinea pig. Can any one tell me where connector 3H is referenced on page 24? Trying to get this installed today.

It looks like it's in the clusterf*ck of connections behind the panel to the left of the steering wheel. I'm out of town at the moment so can't go out to my truck to verify.

That's what I was thinking but my clusterf*ck looks nothing like theirs.20201017_114242.jpg

Thanks for the response. Safe travels, man.

Looks like the directions are split depending on whether your truck has memory seats or not.

Yep, I did determine that. I do have the memory seats so I wanted to tap into that harness. I did figure out which harness I need to tap into but now the question is which one is the Rear Window Defogger wire that would be the 2017 equivalent.

Weird that they would change the rear defroster wire between years. I mean the rear defrosters have been the same since 2007 o_O

Okay, got a good news/bad news scenario for you folks, or at least until someone does it better because I still couldn't figure out the 3H connection.

I think I got everything else down. So, the good news is, it works! The bad news, it won't lock the truck from the keypad and when it unlocks, it unlocks all doors and not just the driver. So, you don't have to hold the last number to unlock all doors. I don't know if I tapped into the wrong wires or if there's a different equivalent for pre-2020.

@g6t9ed thanks for being the tester for this install! At least you can lock the truck from the driver door and then shut it. Glad to know it opens doors!
This is now definitely on the list!

If anyone does decide to do this and do it right the first time, please let me know if you decide to sell your spare keypad button graphic sticker for a reasonable price. I would be very appreciative. I can't for the life of me find any place that sells just the sticker.

Correct. All of the installation hardware is inside the truck so there is no risk to exposing to the elements on any of it. Even had the thing work after a bit of dirt and grime left on that portion of the windshield. I do admit I wish there was a better spot for it but it's better than the alternatives I've researched.
