Will do, I order the cali raised bracket last night. I started with it since I had it on a 11 dc taco. And it’s the cheapest.

Diode dynamics, Baja designs, and rigid all list their brackets as fitting a 2nd gen taco and 2nd gen tundra both. So I’ve got some options to try if Cali doesn’t work out

I didn't want to start a new thread, but those of you who have run wiring from the engine to the cab, where do you enter in the firewall?
I started to run some wiring and only saw the wire loom and hood release cable on the driver side. Am I missing something?

I've run 4 ga power wire and two sets of finer gauge through that circular hole on the driver's side. I've also got wiring from the back of the truck entering in through a spot under the driver's seat which you need to remove the seat/carpet/side trim etc to get at.

Thanks for the info @robabeatle and @Professional Hand Model I think I'll go with the one on the driver's side. Did you do anything special to seal around the wiring through the grommet? I was thinking of adding some silicone to help ensure it's completely sealed.

I used a skinny probe (very carefully) to push through the grommet hole. I pierced a hole in the rubber and fed the wire through the hole which basically self sealed. I then used FuzeIt along the entire Seal (after cleaning it first). It actually stopped some noise and air infiltration. Painted black to match back.

I have run a few wires through that gromet. Where it is you have nothing to worry about in terms of water. It's up high on the firewall right between the fender and brake booster.

I ran wires into the cab with a grommet from a junkyard tundra and under the passenger seat. Sealed just as good as factory.

Well today just went to shit. The dog took a turn. Looks like I have to put the little girl down... I’ve done all I can do. Considering when she was born they figured 4 years max, 11 is one hell of a run for the little girl.

Sorry, too. I always plant some flowers/seeds in the garden for remembrance of the pet. Every Spring the new blooms remind of their coolness they bestowed on us while here on Earth.

Nah, going old man style with an LS 460. Over the next year I'll have my 12 second bug worked out for fun driving and my 30 second bug for cruising. I want a land yacht that I can fall asleep driving as my mid-life crisis mobile.

ok.. just a heads up, the ls460 is the WORST LS lexus made.. wind noise issues due to a design flaw, engines burn oil. suspension issues that cost an arm and a leg to repair.

(the wind noise, if it wasnt fixed at the dealer under tsb, requires like the top half of the front doors to be replaced)

ls430 is a far superior car if your ok with older. my buddies got 410k on his!

Which year? I haven't heard this and I've been researching the 2013-2017 version.

oh those are probably better. i haven't dealt with those. the 07-10s are cheap enough people buying them who really shouldnt are buying them and having issues like no other.

i still dont think lexus will ever produce a car that tops the ls430.. their biggest issue is air suspension stuff and heat shields rotting off.. other than that as long as the timing belts replaced they run forever. 3uz is also a stupid smooth engine.. more so than the 4.6l in the ls460

I'm ideally looking the later of those years, hopefully around $20k but I would pay more if lower miles and well kept. From what I've been seeing the price hikes at 2015 today. Hoping to find one where the first owner had money to buy a $75k car and maintain it. I know too well what happens when people buy cars and can't afford to care for them, thats typical of VW money pits.

first owners usually keep them in check. the early ones had issues that just made people sell them off pretty quickly. now their on their 3rd-4th owners.

Yeah exactly. Right now a 2015-2017 is a little more than I would like to pay for but in 2 years should hit the 25k mark when depreciation has just about set in.

I have heard a good number of people say the 430 is the better car but I'm coming from a GTI so I'm sure I can put up with whatever quirks the 460 has. I'm actually looking forward to having a car I won't modify. I haven't had a car with some form of irregular tire wear in 20 years.

I will say the stock ls460 sounds neat (albeit quiet) the one I heard with an exhaust sounded amazing outside the car, you could barely tell inside!

This is the current trans temps after a 30-40 minute drive. Temps do creep up (to be expected) but I’ll know Sunday once I tow the Mercedes how it will be with towing

Does anyone know what kind of weird ass wrench you need to get the inner tie rod end off? It’s like a 90mm span and the facets are only a few mm wide. @empty_lord
