Using the FRAC you can hook up a mini DVR. You may want to send Lou an email and ask him about your issue. Or, if you want to PM me with your address then I will send you an extra camera that I have.

That's very kind of you. Lou and I just chatted, super nice guy. I tried wiring green to ground as well with no change. Seems like it's only 12V that does anything but not sure why it would flip top bottom instead of left right. I will shoot an email to the camera folks. I have a #30 camera on the way from Amazon that I am going to give a try as well. Will probably connect first by running the wires outside of the truck :).

Had to put my truck back together because I have to use it tomorrow morning. Not looking forward to taking all my trim off and routing more wires Sunday :(

I have the OEM rear camera. With these front camera solutions, are there any that require going any further back than the cab of the truck? I have the locking tailgate kit on the way and want to make sure I only run wires under the truck one time.

I am not aware of any that would require wiring past the cab.

definitely worth watching his install video through in its entirety before you tackle it.

I've watched a few already, but this FRAC mod is going to be later this year, maybe a Christmas present??? We're looking for property to build on so I'm not spending a whole lot on mods right now. My list is growing though! The tailgate lock is kind of an anniversary present from my wife. As I stated previously, I just don't want to have to run wires through the underside of the bed more than once.

FRAC only runs from engine compartment through firewall (toughest part) and into dash. It does not run to the rear. Tailgate lock has completely separate run. If you are going to add light bars to the front grill then you may want to run those wires at the same time as the FRAC wires.

What functionality does FRAC offer over the Anytime Backup Camera kit?

Yeah, I know, but I still would like to know if there are any functional difference between the two. The Anytime Backup kit appears to come with the camera and that nifty switch for about the same price. Nothing wrong with the question. Maybe it's that with the FRAC you can disable vehicle motion for the factory nav, which doesn't apply to me as I used Car Play maps, 2020.

Lou is currently working on a more OEM looking style switch. However, I understand that that is still a little ways out. I have heard that other members have installed the FRAC with the AnyTime OEM style switch...

I wanted to support Lou so bought the FRAC harness and separately the anytime backup camera switch and their camera. Having problems with their camera that they acknowledged was from a known bad batch. Still waiting on a resolution from them as the code they gave to me replace it doesn’t work.

EDIT to add: Lou gave me great support on the phone when I was troubleshooting the camera problem, even though it wasn’t an issue with his hardware.

Yeah not too fond of the switch .... i didn’t even bother hooking up the illumination part of it ... not liking how its amber and i have no amber lights on my dash switch.

Jay, I have found that the “amber” is eventually taken over by the “blue” with time. Maybe it is an “eye-thing” or simply getting used to it but I would highly suggest connecting the illumination wires from one of the neighbor switches (ie; the VSC) to see if your opinion changes.

I used posi-taps as to not blemish the factory wires too much and ran them to the camera and other switches in the NSV Panel. This way your “blue light” will illuminate AND dim with the illumination circuit dimmer in the instrument cluster...

IIRC, the camera switch blue wire goes to the pink off the VSC switch and the grey from the camera switch to the white on the VSC switch...

Another reason to just go through Lou for the support. The FRAC is working great and Lou called me from the AIRPORT while he was travelling.

The camera I bought from Anytime is defective - when I submitted a contact form on their website I got no reply. I emailed direct and was then provided a code to use to get a camera to replace the original. At first they were out of stock; then they changed the listing and there was some available, but the code didn't work; now it works but they still want to charge shipping. I've emailed several times along these iterations and gotten no reply so I am just disputing the cost of the camera on my CC charge. I have no doubt the sapphire preffered card will uphold it, they've already credited me the money.

Just want to re-iterate that @TundraTex 's product and support were great and this is an endorsement to go through him instead of the other options :)

EDIT to update: ABC got real communicative once I did the dispute. Did the refund and shipped me out a replacement camera.

Wired up and installed the FRAC this weekend on the 1794. Put the camera through one of the open winch mount slots on the bottom of my ADD Stealthfighter Everything went very smoothly, absolutely zero issues. Thanks Lou!

Hey guys. I was off the grid this past weekend (Bow Season for Whitetails) so I’m just now catching up on the posts. I appreciate the kind words and endorsements. My FRAC Harness business is a side gig, and I have a very full-time day job, but since I am accepting hard-earned money from my customers I feel obligated to provide the best product and customer service I can. It’s nice to know it’s recognized. Thanks again!

I don’t know all the features of the other product, but I believe the FRAC Harness is the easiest plug and play design to install. That is subjective opinion, but many customers and installers have told me the same thing. Another feature of the FRAC harness that some others don’t have is to automatically override the front cam whenever you shift into reverse. This maintains OEM functionality without having to deselect the front cam manually. Then as you mentioned, I include the VIM feature that others charge additional money for. And finally, I treat my customers like I want to be treated. Hope this answers your question.

Just realized I hadn't update the thread title to reflect compatibility with the 2021 vehicles. That's now been updated. The 2021 models are using the same Head Unit wiring as the 2020 models.

I have the FRAC harness and love it.

I also have this camera that I'm not using:

    https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B06XNM7GNS/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o06_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1

I'll give it to anyone who wants it. Just let me know.

It is brand new. I hooked it up to make sure it works, but went with the one that mounts in the emblem. I changed to a 2018+ grille and thought I would need this, but rather than figure out mounting, I just drilled a hole in the emblem and mounted my old camera there. In the meantime I let my return window expire.
