What are you to do with the stock spare tire if you need to use it on your lifted truck?

    Can you get a spacer
Buy a steel wheel with the correct offset

Just don't like the idea of not being able to use it now.

    Thanks Neil

Maybe I'm missing something. Lifting your truck and or adding taller tires should not render your factory spare useless. Obviously you wouldn't want to drive long distances or use 4wd while running the shorter spare, but it should be fine to get you home or to a tire shop.

it may hit brakes or something. If the stock wheels don't work I assume the spare will not.

??? Why would stock wheels hit the breaks?

What's the offset of your wheels now?

I maybe wrong, but the offset won't work with the new setup I have.

What did you change when you lifted? The only thing I can think of is maybe the tire rubbing on the uca

Just the lift. Maybe I will try it when the weather breaks. Just for my own curiosity.

Your spare should fit fine. You just don't want to drive on it for an extended amount of time because of the size difference. Diameter, not offset. And you might want to see if your new lug nuts fit or if you need to carry around a set of your original lugs.

Buy a +18 wheel and 35" spare. No more worries and work it into the rotation.

Unless you changed your hub or brakes, your stock wheel can't possibly hit anything. But like you said, your best bet is to convince yourself one way or the other by trying it.

    None, yet....
And if the size is different enough, VSC and TRAC will freak out since it will think the tire is loosing traction.

If you don't have the full size matching spare and need to use it I would leave in 2wd and make sure it is up front.

If you don't want to pony up for a matching 5th wheel just get a cheap wheel with matching offset and 35" tire then. Probably could get that done for under $300.
