    Opps! I did it again...

but hey $40 and I have new calipers, rotors, drums, ss lines and all...

Backing plates are bent but fixable and has a third member to rebuild on the side with my Kazuma LSD install.

So anyone ever do the first-gen Sequoia rear disk swap on their FGT?
    Could you post links?

Just want to confirm what I'm doing.

My parts list I have so far:

    New Calipers
    Rotors and pads
    Drums, shoes, and hardware
    SS brake lines extended
T100 dual diaphragm brake booster and bigger master

From what I remember all I have to do is pull the axles, put new axle seals, and install them with the backing plate and brake stuff in my Tundra's housing.

I'm also going to be doing the install on my TRD Kazuma LSD at the same time so those seals and bearings are going to be done as well.

Do I need the parking brake cable from the Sequoia or can I modify the Tundra's?

    Am I correct?

    Thanks guys!

Best time to do a long travel with coil springs or retrofit a airbags from a Mercedes Benz GL. As for the the parking brakes, there's a chance you need to mod the Tundra's cable ends. Sequoia might be too short due to wheelbase.

Thanks that's the link I was looking for!

For some reason, that forum has been glitchy for me that last few months.
Can't message people and not all threads are showing...

UPDATE: So my I confirmed that my Tundra does not have ABS, had it checked twice by others just to be sure...

So parking cable ends are all that I need to figure out it looks like.
I'll do a full write up when I actually do the install, I'm thinking about regearing right now since it'll all be out anyway and I'm doing high-angle boots on my front axles too...

    It's just a domino effect now...:bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance::bananadance:

    It's only money...:bananadead:

Some pictures for reference to my brake lines and yes I will address the surface when everything is out.

Did you have to drill the frame to install this kit? I've found conflicting info about whether or not drilling is required. I'd appreciate a picture or two on where the links mount to the frame.

At over $200 cheaper than the Hellwig 7700, the Addco kit has my attention. I also like that it's above the axle vs the Hellwig which seems to hang down a bit.

Yes, I had to make a hole but wasn't hard to do at all.
I'll get pictures in a bit.
Had them for a few months now and it rides great, but I do alot of freeway driving so it's set up for that.

That's good news, aside from how they mount the other difference is 1" vs 1 1/8" diameter. I'd rather put the $200 saved towards HD leaf springs. That combo should work great for me since nearly all of my driving will be on pavement occasionally hauling a couple of bikes and/or a trailer. Thanks!

Yeah, I looked at options for a bit and almost went with the Hellwig but I found this set on a site on sale for $130 shipped with free returns so I just took a shot.
I figured I'd return it if not.
A lot better looking in person than advertised.
I don't have side by side comparisons they look pretty good as the Hellwig bars that I've seen so this is one great deal I recommend so far, only time will tell on the long haul of them though.

Oh and the instructions I got sucked so it was more of just line it up when I was installing it.
Pretty simple to do, I got a second and third opinion but in the end, it was one of those things where you just don't overthink it and send it!:D:D:D:D:D

As I said, no problems so far and they perform great in the rain at 70+ mph.

and as you can see in the picture there is no rubbing issues with the leaf springs or any side to side rubbing on anything.

the bolt pattern for the backing plates on a sequoia is different from out 1st gen axles. this is the issue with why its not a bolt on swap. you can cut all the mounts off the sequoia axle and weld on perches and shock mounts though

do you know if there is a difference between the backing disc pattern on the ABS sequoia VS a Non-abs tundra?

Just a shot in the dark question...

tundra mounting is basically a square if you look at it from where the studs are. the sequoia top and bottom are offset of each other. i believe the bottom 2 are spaced further apart than the top two.

the other issue is if your truck is NON ABS the axle seal on the sequoia axles are are set into the axle deeper because of the ABS tone ring. the non ABS axles the seal is on the edge of the axle basically.
