    What’s up folks;

    Prelude-
recently slapped extended travel kings and camburg kinetik Uca’s with 315’s on the truck. Additionally, I removed the sway bar.

    issue-
Took a left handed u turn and rubbed so hard it pulled a little of the fender well cover off. Bmc and bumper shims have been installed. Not sure how many additional parts need to be removed at this point and about the cab side of the fender well needing MORE chopping.

    Any idea’s/thoughts will be helpful.

    thanks
Edit: I’ll add some pictures after work

    What's your wheel offset?

    Method says 0” offset/4.75” spacing. They’re the method 311 vex wheels. 17”x8.5

Wheel offset is the usual culprit, but you have the BMC and shims. Let's see if a member chimes in with a similar setup.

Forgive my ignorance...what are extended Travel Kings? Have pics of your setup?

Basically an internal stop is removed making them droop more.

Lot of mfg make extended versions, they require uniball (possibly BJ) uppers to be used to accommodate the additional down travel.

assuming your rubbing is back side, adding caster will help clear the back contact issues.

Makes sense. Shouldn't something like Super Bump Stops be used to compensate?

Extended travel alters down, not up travel. Unless things have changed...

Talked with Fox a lot about this some time ago. Kore had a custom Fox coilover they were selling and advertising something like 13" of wheel travel or something like that (with a uniball upper).

Reached out to Fox due to Kore no longer selling it. Basically an out of the box coilover with internal stops removed.

More caster is always better , but OP didn’t describe rubbing the body mount in reverse (caster is the fix for that), but in a tight left turn. Obviously pics would help, so we understand exactly what ‘fender well cover’ got damaged. If it’s on the outside of the tire, changing wheels (offset) or adding wide fenders may be the fix.

.....but the AIP inlets will be exposed so either do a bypass or install the SDHQ AIP inlet relocation kit.

What's your caster #? Shove that wheel forward and cut the liner a little more if necessary. Mud leaves and crap build up at the bottom of the fender behind the liner. Might as well make it easy to clean out. :101010:

alright, that seems like a common suggestion. I don’t know the caster #, unfortunately I trusted I’d be one and done with the install company. I’ll do a little trimming this weekend.

have an alignment shop push your caster to 3.5+ (keep toe and camber at the factory #'s) the truck will feel just ever so slightly slower on steering input from factory #'s on the road, but more stable in the dirt, and it will clear that rubbing issue.

ALRIGHT. Since I finally fixed the issue, I figured I’d let all those who posted on this thread know. Took it in to get the bmc double checked, right? Bmc had been done a little too shallow, so they cut a little more off and cleaned up the weld. Pretty stoked and I have a much cleaner and clearer ROM with my truck. Thanks to all for the input.
