That's pretty wild! Never seen it before. Is it hydrodipped?

That is pretty wild, here my wife's 04 limited Sequoia. Wasn't a fan of it at first but it's grown on me.

Swapped over my bezel yesterday. The switches are tricky but pretty manageable if you take your time. The toughest part is circled. I think it really helped that all the parts were 85 degrees here in Florida, so nothing broke.

Hey, If you dont mind a change of subject.
    I noticed your headunit.
I am doing mine soon. Had decided on a sony since that seemed to look more oem. Flat black to match the dash. Instead of the high gloss black on other brands.
But from your pic that panasonic does not look as aftermarket as I thought they would. Blends in better than I thought. Do you like it so far?

It’s a pioneer and I like it a lot so far. Paid $345 through crutchfield. I read a lot of reviews and watched a lot of YouTube videos and this one seemed the be the leader in this price point. I also appreciate the OEM look rather than a flashy aftermarket look. The only thing I would really consider is wireless AA/CarPlay. Next time I’d pay the extra money for that feature bc I’ve quickly leaned how much I hate cables being out in the open in my truck. But units with wireless AA/CP start around $650.

here are a few pics before the wood swap:

@912 That looks great! I'd like to swap my wood grain out, but the black wouldn't match the beige interior.

What are USB outlets / switches are you using to modify the two rectangular factory switch locations? They look like a simple swapout, but I'm sure they aren't plug and play.

These bastards here are the real shits! For the record, I half-sheared off a couple of the protruberances there and the button still snapped together and held. But there must be a good way to separate those SOBs easily!

Cheap, but they get the job done and fit the switch space

just be careful, they're definitely cheap. When I first pugged a USB cord into the voltmeter one, it pushed the back of the switch off and i had to take it a part all over again. So just make sure to fiddle with them and reinforce as needed before you go to use them ;)

Hate to bump this from the past but is there a difference in size for the bezel with the ac controls? also for the window controls. 00-02 and 03-06?

Several versions of this thing. Same exterior dimensions. Newer ones have a wider radio opening. There are kits to reduce that to double din size. But the primary reason to match your existing one is button layout. Hazards, 4wd, passenger airbag, and low gear are all different across years and trims.

I believe the window switches on the driver door are all the same size as well but less confident on the versions there.

Older units also have a hazard button. The '05-'06 with the 5AT transmissions had to add the "SHIFT L" button in the center dash too. Earlier years had a lockout provision in the center dash for the passenger seatbelt also, whereas later years had a sensor in the seat, I guess.

Airbag. Not seatbelt. Mine has it.
Hazard comes in black or red based on year / trim. The red is fun. I think they can be swapped but never tried.

Yes the older FGTs have a smaller opening for the radio. Also noticed the pioneer headunit above is now $100 more expensive…ugh, like everything these days.
