Rebuilt engine w/265K miles, A.R.E. camper shell (w/cab pass-through, rooftop fan, and side windows delete), bedlinered steel ladder rack (w/wooden rooftop deck and hammock mount), all LED lights (red dash, 4" side floods, 32" rear bar), Android head unit, 1.5" lift from Bilstein 5100 struts, 32" DuraTrac tires on factory rims, 1.5" wheel spacers, Moog suspension parts, SuperSprings leaf kit, diff drop, Reese trailer brake control, GoRhino Hitch Step, debadged, F-150 rear bumper, Sequoia center console unit upgrade, partial rear bench seat delete, dashcam, aftermarket speakers, 50% sound deadening coverage, custom tools unit.

PM. From readings, many seem to fritz in the 200k mark. I’m at 171k with bigger tires the entire life so thats getting near the mark when you add up the extra %.

I’ll pull the old one apart and measure the brush per the FSM and see if my radar is confirmed.

I think this is the specific TSB that identifies the new tensioner and the associated a/c bracket: img - Toyota TSB EG026-06 page 1.jpg

Some battery terminal protection spray or dielectric grease will help keep the crusties away longer now that you've got them all cleaned up.

Thank you. I’ve committed to the Aisin Gasket Maker that they recco. @w666 put up a link to the fleasbaay store for the same tube at around $30 free shipping. I figured just use the Aisin recco for $20.

You’ve a great start on your Feather Dustings. Try buying some Ideal Goo. Not sure if you have a battery terminal brush so you could rough up the posts and the inside of the clamps before adding the goo. Coat those exposed wire tips as well. Works on all metal wire even though its made for Aluminum. High recco!

Thanks, I will check this out! I've already used a wire brush to clean up the terminals, so now it's just a matter of applying this stuff.

This is turning into the most expensive timing belt replacement of a 4.7L in history.

Thats really cool tech on their info page. May have to cough up some dough to eliminate a butt load of keys.

Thats good stuff too. I like the Bottled Goo because its cleaner/easier to use as a little goes a long way. No spray mess. I put a dab on and spread it around the terminals (using gloves). Use it on all other connections by just adding a dab and reconnecting. The little bottle will last a lifetime.

It is pretty cool, but be wary. A few people reported that locks didn't work after 6 mos. and worse is when the cylinder for the tow pin comes off on its own.

Swapped out the K&N I inherited from the PO for a paper filter and cleaned the MAF, TB, and AC condenser. Made a big difference. I must say it is such a pleasure working on this thing. So well built and designed. And so much room under the hood.

It’s behind the glove box, after removing a sensor of some kind. I sprayed it with coil cleaner from Lowe’s that said it was safe for autos. I let it dissolve and emulsify all the nasty stuff and then ran the ac for 30 min. It’s colder now and smells like a new truck!

This is strong, I was going to get new parts but it's over 400 bucks. I wasn't sure about plasti-dipping but this is definitely a great stopgap.

Go for it.like $6 a can and a few hours make a huge difference. i was suprised at how good it came out but probably will redo it at some point as it is not perfect cause i did not remove some of the leftover original plastic.
how bad is your trim or whatever? got pics?

that looks scary familiar man. is your driver side worse than the P side? mine was for some reason. that side actually is intact. I figured that the prior owner parked it with sun blazing on that side.
anyhow, I failed to remove all the leftover plastic before spraying and regret it, but it still looks almost new. I would suggest a thourough prep and you will be amazed at the results. i had a slight issue when pulling the tape after letting it set according to directions. It peeled a little in a few spots. i started using a razor to slightly score where i got resistance.
show us the after pics whenever you get there....

Yeah, I'll probably take mine off the truck and completely strip them before I dip them. The truck was parked in Bakersfield where it gets really hot. My driver side is also worse, I think it was the way it was parked.

Yep, the DC trim piece was for the driver door was like $130 but it was well worth it. My other doors were fine.

I second that. A little bit of dremelling where the plastic wouldn't come off, some sanding/prep work, and a few light coats of spray paint got mine looking amazing. Takes the exterior look to the next level.

Golly. I guess I just have more time than money. :p

Well mine was missing the outside top seal so it worried me with water getting down into the door and ruining the regulator.
