New Tundra owner, question about existing spacer lifts and replacing with suspension lift.

Just joined the Tundra club, traded in a '11 4Runner for a pre-owned '17 Tundra and loving it!

I noticed there are spacer lifts in the front and back. Would anyone know about how much lift it is creating? And possibly the brand? Everything else is stock I believe. Looking to replace with a suspension lift for some general off-roading, nothing heavy. Any recommendations or a good thread to go off of?

Generally for best ride and ability to handle some off road you want to stay away from spacer lifts and do a coilover lift for the front, perhaps shackles for the rear. Approaching 3 inches of lift you will need to do UCAs to get alignment right. 5100s or 6112s for the front are popular and they are adjustable for height, other popular for the $ are Toytec lifts, and OME suspensions....if you want to spend more there are more expensive ones like fox and others.

That is a 3/1 kit, dealer rebranded to AutoGear. Same as a ReadyLift kit. I ran a Readylift in mine for a year and a half and switched to Toytec Alumas and shackles.

 

measure center of wheel to bottom of fender. stock is 22" front and 24" rear. anything above or below tells you how many inches it was lifted or lowered.

 

6112’s and shackles would be the best route

 

So if i went with 6112's (highest setting) and 5160's with shackles in rear and wanted to keep the level look, what would I need to raise the rear too? Maybe 0.5" to 1"?

1.9 inches will completely level you. Add a lift shackle if you want some rake. If you want to go to 2.5 you could do a larger lift shackle though I’ve heard they are not good for the suspension.

 

I did 1.9” 6112s and CB+2 shackles which are 1.25” lift and it had a little rake but you couldn’t really tell. It probably would’ve been good with 6112s at the top setting.
