2020 Sequoia TRD Pro Grill conversion

Ok folks, because I'm stupid (And not pretty enough to justify being stupid), to do the '20 TRD Pro Sequoia grill conversion on my '13 Sequoia, I need to order the hood bulge as well as the grill itself, correct? Sorry for being lame....

Finally received email alert that my grill was ready for pickup at noon yesterday. It was super difficult to maintain my composure and remain calm until I finished work.

Removal of my platinum stock grill was easy and straight forward. However I broke two plastic retention plugs / clip thingies on the upper most outward edges that hold the stock bulge in place.

Install of the new grill was real easy. The hood bulge on the other hand took me a good while trying to align bottom clips that go into the grill itself and plastic retention plugs that pop into the hood. It was a real pain. Glad it’s over. Side note, I didn’t care for how the hood bulge has a rubber weather seal that runs along its entire width across the hood. Looks real flimsy. I hope that they last a long time. I’m skeptical because I had to fix/ replace most of my rubber seals and trims already and compared to my other vehicles tundra rubber seems cheaply sourced. Maybe because I have to park outside 24 / 7.

Anyway, super happy with the outcome.

For real though, read all 10 pages of this thread, and then ask questions if you have them. There isnt much to doing this mod.

 

My only question is that do I order a 2018 sequoia or 2020 grill

 

Which grille style do you want? The Sequoia TRD Pro only comes in model year 2020+

 

imo looks better than the sequoias headlights with the seq grille.
when are you getting rid of the chrome bumper ? haha

 

They (Alpharex) look even better knowing I only paid $279.30 for the pair.
For anyone interested
I took precautions from reading about after market headlight fiascos with fading and moisture issues etc. Before installing headlights I thinly sprayed Meguiars headlight clear coat several times. I also applied 3M thin viscosity super glue (self etching quick self cure) all around the headlight seams as insurance. It’s been on there several months with 6 plus car washes and looks good so far but time will tell.
Yeah the front bumper is on my next to do list. Haha. Nothing fancy. Looking to replace with factory black bumper front and rear.

Yeah I noticed that price went up and they are out of stock.
I would look around eBay because at the time I was thinking of buying there were lots of other resellers selling same lights at similar price. I know these resellers price match so maybe you can send them screenshot of my price paid and they can price match?

So I have a 2011 sr5 double cab. I have to oder the 2020 sequoia trd pro grill and the bluge. But do i keep the brackets i have or order the new one's there seems to be a difference on this as well the clips

You just need the grill and bulge. You reattach to your existing bracket.
Might want to order some clips though because I broke two of them during removal of stock grill.

 

Well after waiting for 3 months I canceled my order seeing that the current order is 76 and none on the way nation wide. Not sure if anyone has better luck. I did how ever buy the brackets and I would be willing to sell them if some one wanted them.

Whi did you order thru. The dealership I talked to said they have 75 on order nation wide and zero in transit. At that point I was over the wait and having $400 sitting at a dealership waiting. If I could order one and get it in a few days or weeks I would order again.

 

I ordered from some online dealer that had a crazy sale one weekend.

What color are you waiting for? Mine was Magnetic Grey Metallic.

I got the black grill ordered about two weeks ago shipped yesterday

 

I’ve been lurking around on this forum for a little while and decided to pull the trigger on the TRD Pro grill and some new headlights! Totally changed the look of the truck so stoked with how it came out!
