    Wow. Didn’t realise you had the 3.4. That’s probably the first one I’ve ever seen leak coolant.... clean the coolant leak and just keep an eye on it. Probably not even more that a tiny seep judging by photos

    It truly is a slow leak. I only have added the pink 3 or so times in the few years of ownership. I honestly feel I was sold it in this condition.




    Ya lol 3.4L truly drew the stinky end of the stick on this one.

    So I'm gonna fix it, it looks like a 1/4" inch breach and it looks active. Haven't gotten to test it hard yet 7th grade distance learning started and the damn smoke is so thick. Getting my recall airbag done next week. I'm look to start this in prolly 2 weeks. I'm gonna use my sons gopro and film the entire process. He also can edit the video to watchable length or sequence of disassemble and assembly segments.

    -Plan to tear it down see what I'm dealt.

    -then order every thing (plugs/wires, h2o pump kit, new fasteners kit, hoses, all I come across) upon assessment of the leak

    -then CLEAN everything till parts arrive air flow sensor, throttle body

    Toyota sells a complete top end gasket kit for a good price. Get the part number from the dealer then buy online. OEM gaskets are far superior to aftermarket on the 3.4

    I got dealership quote of 500 bux from Piercy Toyota. A Fel pro set 300. I didn't figure the OEM would be better. Thx Empty_lord

    I believe the kit your looking for is the valve grind kit. It has everything except rear main seal and all the gaskets you wouldn’t touch for head gaskets. But this is all new valve stem seals and all.

    I thank you greatly for the info. And setting me straight on OEM gaskets cause I would have done the opposite.

    Is the Asin h20 pump kit still the king of the hill ??

    And wats u guys take on some vids saying

    .... to keep original pulleys because of the superior bearings and build quality of the OEM part ??

    I'm on the fence only cause truck has 105k on it. But I still lean towards using the new ones.

    So got this beast for the day whilst my air bag is replaced. Boy o boy this thing isn't that fun to drive and dash computer says Average 18 mpg lolol same as my 04 tundra yikes

    So what about preforming a leak down test to evaluate the condition of the engine ? Since all this gonna be quite a bit of work, thinking with the shit luck I've had with the truck so far would be smart to make sure its worth the effort.

    Any thoughts gentlemen.......

    Lulz I am, I am. Need spanner wrench for springs in the cams and to torque and remove pulleys found OTC . I had a inch torque wrench at one point found another foot pound one I forgot about. So I'm looking at a bi-directional +/-3% one. And am ordering a 3 set of impact wobbles I never knew they existed lol. I'm also reading tech and watching videos in between helping him with the distance learning school.

    And over thinking lol I'm like that sometimes on firsts.

    If the hood struts are removed will the hood pivot back against the windscreen??

    I don’t think those brackets have that much rotation on em, even if they did I think thats a bad idea anyway.

    Completely remove the hood if its in your way? Should be the two gas struts, the four 12mm bolts, and your windshield washer hose.

    So over looked TDC on #1 on compression. Dont have compression guage.

    With #1 plug out won't something plugging the hole blow out on the up stroke of compression/ detonation and the timing mark will be at 0°'s and the cam shaft Mark's will align then if the valve covers off the cam gear fits would also align

    Correct ?
