Trying to resync the actuator motor on a 2014 BW Transfer case motor. Can not find anywhere to show what position the gear needs to be in for 2hi, 4hi, and 4lo so I can sync it back with the switch. 2hi and 4hi seem to work, but it seems it’s not making it all the way to 4lo, which makes me think that I have it off by just a little. Is there schematics somewhere that can help?

Only does this periodically on cold start after idling for a couple of minutes.

Thought it was a tensioner or pully but have changed those and belt.

It’s loudest on the drivers side.

    https://youtu.be/frHsOj0uRDM

    After belt and tensioner change.

Still making the same noise for 10-30 seconds after cold start up.

The Tundra 5.7 is a fairly loud motor. The noise you are hearing sound like a lifter noise. When is the last time you changed the oil and what grade? My suggestion is to change the oil using 5W30 and see if it's better. If it's still there but better add .5L of ATF to the crankcase and run it until the next oil change. ATF has detergents that will help clean out oil passages and lifters. Once the noise is gone you can return to 0W20 for winter.

He only has 13 posts and 11 of them were a meltdown. I appreciate the backup from everyone.

About 2200 miles into an oil change.
Dealer, Toyota synthetic. I believe 0w20 or 30 but not sure.
I did notice that it stopped after the last oil change and only started back recently.
Not much of a winter for me in Alabama.
    Any links on recommend ATF?

Dealer would have used OW20. You can use any Dexron III but only .5L/quart or use a dedicated lifter/engine cleaner like Marvel M13R Mystery oil which works well.

I'm asking this question in a few spots. I've also posted a thread here with more info: https://www.tundras.com/threads/201...hvac-control-lights-stereo-not-dimming.72831/

2014 SR5 crewmax. I've blown an interior fuse labeled "panel". I replaced the fuse and it blew again immediately. I noticed the blown fuse after troubleshooting my radio not dimming and my HVAC control lights not coming on with the headlights. I'm assuming the blown fuse is related, but how do I diagnose what is causing the fuse to blow? Stock electronics other than aftermarket trailer brake controller.

I've only had the truck for a month. So I can't say when this problem started.

I've seen this before with a bad 7 way trailer connector at the rear bumper. Open the door and look for damage or corrosion. You can also disconnect it from the harness to eliminate it from the circuit. I've included a wiring diagram of the circuit and a description of the fuse panel circuits. This information is for the floor shifted trucks. There is a different wiring diagram for the column shifted trucks.

I need a quick info about replacing the rear sway bar on a 2nd gen Sequoia. Do I have to remove the propeller shaft to do the swap?

    Thanks!

@Ruggybuggy thank you for the quick reply. I disconnected the 7-way trailer connector from the harness to eliminate it from the circuit. Fuse still blew. Based on the fact that the "panel" fuse circuit diagram that you sent includes trailer towing, it seems to me that the next step would be for me to take apart the aftermarket trailer break wiring. Do you agree? Any other thoughts on how to proceed?

I would definitely be looking at the aftermarket brake controller. Should be easy to unplug if they wired it in correctly.

So recently Ive noticed alot of shaking through the steering wheel while breaking coming down winding hill. Assumed it my rotors that is warped. Truck has about 44k miles. Looking to replace the rotors and pads with oem. Should I replace the rears as well?

They seem to have decent tread left. Ill have to double check to see if there’s any uneven wear in the am.

I just installed a c4 front bumper on 2015 and in the process disconnected the front two PDC sensors and after reinstalling them the sensors the truck is now giving me an error. Does the PDC system have to be reset and can this only be done at the dealer?

There is no reset for the proximity sensors. I have no experience with the C4 bumper that you installed. Check and make sure you plugged them in correctly. The sensors can be a pain because they don't show up on the data stream in Techstream. When I encountered this problem I had a known good sensor that I would swap out. I doubt you have a sensor issue because they worked before. Make sure the connector's terminals are OK and that you didnt accidentally pull the wires partially out of the connector.

I've included the repair info from Toyota. Good luck.

My friend truck was doing the same thing, I helped him do the front brakes And change the rotors , and when we checked the rear brakes the pads were still more than 50%, so he decided not to change it. Just doing the front rotor and brake the shaking/pulsing from the steering wheel stopped when braking.

    Hello all,

this question is regarding transmission fluid check level. My driveway is at an slight incline but using a jack I have it so it shows level on the belly of the transmission pan. Should I be good? Thanks in advance.

If your not feeling a pulsing in the brake pedal at all then it's a tire or rim issue, possible loose lug nuts. Normally and tire and wheel problem would be noticed all the time, just not braking.

Use the level on the frame and not the trans pan. The transmission sits at a slightly downward slope. The instructions from Toyota is a level truck.
