Yup, I unplugged all four sensors and the speedo wasn’t working.

It will most likely throw a DTC and your ABS light should come on. The yellow box should work for you as long as you install it between the ABS ECU and the Speedo.

Well got mine installed and it fires up but speedo is dead.

Followed the instructions provided earlier: "

The white wire from the Yellowbox will take the input form the ABS computer to the Yellowbox, the blue wire feeds it back to the speedo plug."

See attached, in my case I spliced the green/black wire.

Thoughts? Did I mix them up? Will email Yellr as well, can swap the leads closer to the box to see if that fixes is so I dont have to pull my dash cluster again.

@Blueranger501 they usually come with a bypass plug in case you want to remove the yellrbox, did you try clipping that in?

Curious if your wiring is good and the yellrbox is bad or severely misadjusted.

    YB Wiring Harness colours;

YB RED wire = POWER = Splice connect to Power source = +12vDC source
YB BLACK wire = GROUND = Splice connect to Ground source = sensor
    ground is best
YB BLUE wire (Green wire or Grey wire) = Output from Yellow Box to
speedometer (speedo side of cut sensor wire)
YB WHITE wire (or Yellow wire) = INPUT from Speed Sensor into Yellow
Box (cut wire from speed sensor)

This is directly from yellr. Sounds like you have the wiring right. Which version yellow box do you have? 2 wire or 3 wire?

2 wire. Was wondering what that other plug was for. Will plug in and report back. If I have a speedo reading something is up with the unit. Thanks!

You’re going to have to exchange your unit for the 3 wire. The 2 wire is designed to convert a sine wave signal where the 3 wire converts a pulse signal. I had to do the same thing. I contacted yellr and they sent me a 3 wire and I sent the 2 wire back as return to sender in the same package.

I wired it wrong at the connector since I had to run power and ground separate from the harness. Works perfectly and is dead on, amazing!!!! Thanks for the instructions and help! Will report back on shifting and if I notice any improvement.

I wired to a dead line. Essentially I cut the splice harness in 2, running the white and blue wires from behind speedo down to driver kick well and the other for power off a fuse jumper under dash and a ground next to kick panel. Wired to the power and ground line harness which had blue and white wires attached to nothing. Hopefully that makes sense.

Used the heat shrink solder combo connectors they work great just have to keep the wires in place while the heat gun does it’s work.

And holy cow I haven’t had an accurate speedo for 16 years this is incredible!!!

    thanks for the help!

For the 04 does anybody know if the ABS unit gets the speed signal from the ABS sensor or somewhere on the trans / t case sensors? Want to know as I’m considering a new spindle which would eliminate the ABS sensors.

The yellow box should work for you. Do you have questions about the install or are you waiting for one of the other ‘06 guys to confirm if it works? It uses a different color wire but the installation is the same.

I'm not in a hurry so I'm just waiting. I'm really hoping that yellr box can figure out a plug-n-play solution. If not, a step by step instructions or schematic.

In mid October I ordered a yellow box for my Jeep. Since then I have received no communication from them other than the payment receipt. Emails to them have gone unanswered. I’m going through PayPal to get a refund.

They responded to my emails when asking questions before I ordered. After that it’s been crickets. I understand the COVID thing is impacting everyone but it should have at least shipped in the last 40 days. No communication since and no response to my emails in the last 2 weeks does not seem reasonable. Was going to order one for my tundra but I think I’ll look elsewhere unless something drastic happens after going through PayPal to resolve.

Thank you Glock 40. This looks like the way to go for the Jeep if the Yellowbox does not work out. Looks like it may not work for my 2016 Tundra so I still have to figure that out.
    Thank you!
