Your brake fluid will go to a lower level as your brakes wear. If your adding fluid to turn the light off it's time fo do a brake check and see how much brake pad material you have left. I would do this soon because when the light comes on there usually not much brake friction material left.

 

Good morning , new to this question and answer stuff, but just noticed when I back my boat in to launch and still in drive the truck 2013 tundra dc sr5, wants to roll back . Is this normal ? Now I have even noticed it on hills , in drive wants to roll back.

 

Normal, depends on many things like the load in the truck, the incline and even your idle speed.

Sure, why not? Stop and go driving, towing, hilly terrain and even bad driving habits. The only other less likely explanation is a leak or someone has removed some brake fluid.

 

Guess I will have to give it a closer look.

 

Hey I have a question, I just had an alignment done and truck drives straight but steering wheel clocks to the left a little and really starting to bother me can you tell me if my alignment numbers are ok ive done the coachbuilder trd pro kit and JBA UCA 275 70 18 bfg ko2 . thx.

 

My specialty. Done thousands of alignment on Toyotas and others. Numbers are good. I take it that the truck goes down the road straight but the wheel is a little off center all of the time? The last thing done with the alignment is to set the toe and centre the wheel. The tech wasn't careful and didn't center the wheel correctly. Just to note that the wheel can be off on certain roads with different crowns but if the wheel is off most of the time on most roads take it back and have them correct it. Make sure you get a print out for the second alignment. Some techs will cheat and adjust the wheel without putting it on the alignment rack. Asking for the print out forces them to do another alignment.

Hi - i made a thread about this, but didn't get any responses. Thought maybe this would be a better spot for it:
So my airbag light has been on intermittently for months. When i say intermittently, i mean it'll come one (and stay on until you turn the truck off) maybe 1 out of 100 start-ups. I had my truck to my local guy for inspection today and asked if he had a computer that could scan that code even though the light was currently off. He came back with D1630, but long story, wasn't interested in diagnosing further or attempting to fix. He suggested contacting Toyota to see if this might be a recall/warranty. I'll call tomorrow, but i doubt it. it's a 2015 that i bought from a dealer out of the area a year ago without any additional warranty. I searched for open recalls but didn't find any.

I feel like it must be a loose connection since it's so infrequent, and my gut is pointing me to the wiring under the manual drivers seat since my wife and i do change the seat position regularly, but as far as i can tell/see, everything looks proper.

D1630 is not a known code for Toyota. If you have the light coming on you have a code. That where to start. You maybe surprised and Toyota may pay for the repair because its safety related. Go in and have them checked for codes.

 

Just checked further but I think you mean code B1630. There is a very long procedure for solving the problem so I think it's best you bring it in.

Not a clue. It's all diag time so the quicker they find it the less you pay.

 

Car has 130k, and is a weekend car so it mainly sits.
1UZ has bouncing idle, sort of a mystery, it doesn't do it all the time, I can start it and it will idle fine for about 30 seconds to a minute and then it will start bouncing between 2k to 1k rpm. There are times where I will start it and no bouncing will occur. Recently replaced battery for a 2nd time. Car idles fine in gear, R, D, 2, L. But will resume bouncing idle in N and P. I can drive it fine with no issues, and I can pull over and drop in on N or P and it will not bounce, but this is also intermittent. More often than not it will idle fine after its warmed. Its been dealer maintained its whole life cycle until about January swapped out a dead battery and I took it home, killed another battery 2 months ago, besides an oil change and batteries nothing else has been done.

 

What year and model? Are there any light on in the dash?

The battery is likely a draw on the system. You will have to read the amp draw from the negative battery post to the negative connection by installing an amp meter in series. Do a google search on how to test. Also a discharged poor battery can effect idle speed. If you know the battery is good, clean the throttle body out with throttle body cleaner and a tooth brush and make sure you spray into the IAC (idle air control) port. You can YouTube or google how to do this. I'm assuming all other maintainence related items such as spark plugs and air filter have been addressed.

 

Have not address air filter and sparks, since its been stored away for over a year and they were done around the same time, but I will address those as well, I will do the draw test, and Ill clean the car's iac and throttle body. thanks for the advise.
