Yes, just posi-tap into the cargo light power wire.

 

Yes 2nd gen would be the same kit but without the tie down rails to mount the lights to the light doesn't spread as evenly.

 

I will order the bed kit and hood light once I get my rails installed!

Just wanted to thank Matt publicly. He has top notch customer service and bailed me out on multiple occasions. Last week I was removing the rails and dropped one tearing the light strip. He was prompt in his response and worked with me for a best possible solution. Placed the order Friday and it came in the mail today. Thanks again - they don’t get much better than this.

Ordered the bed and hood light kits. Delivery was quick. Took my time with the installation. I did have a few questions on the install and Matt was very quick to respond (within hours). Overall the installation went well.

Good product that adds nice visibility and functionality to the bed and hood.

Matt, I am planning to get these and tie them into the wiring for my existing OEM bed lights (that were a disappointment to say the least). As an electrical engineer, I am a little OCD about these things though. Can you tell me the current draw or power requirements for the bed lights (5 1/2' bed)? Also, can I adjust the brightness with an inline resistor without damaging the LEDs? I know some LEDs are more sensitive to the supplied voltage than others.

 

Yes a resistor or dimmer can be used, the LEDs are dimmable. They accept 12 volts DC and Amp draw is under 3 Amps.

How do the soft top camper lights attach?

 

The light strips attach to the two upper supports.

 

Would your Tacoma Softopper light kit work on a Tundra? I don't have bed rails so I can't use your bed lights.

 

I can make a Tundra Soft Topper light strips kit (without the bed lights). I'll PM you info shortly.

 

Think I'm going to order a hood and bed kit. I assume the hood kit just wires right to the battery, but how do you power the bed lights?
Would this require running power all the way to the hood or do you tap in to power in the bed? I actually prefer a manual switch so not looking to tap into any existing switched power.

 

I'll PM you the install instructions for your review. Both kits wire to the battery and have switches to activate the lights.

Tundra long bed camper LED light kit. For carpeted shell you would just need to add the "hook" side of Velcro to the back of my lights. I'll PM you info.

Ordered the hood lights last sat. Came in on fri. Took less than an hour to install. Most of it was trying to run the wire under a piece by the windshield. I couldn’t get my hands in there, so my wife tried then was determined and that took awhile.

It’s a good kit that works well.

 

I finally installed the bed light kit. The instructions were easy to follow and the lights look great. Thanks Matt.

 

Interested in getting this but want the lights to come on automatically when the tailgate is down. Any pointers on a switch for that ability?
