So I’ve contemplated doing this myself and I would just de-pin an old wiring harness I have laying around and cut the wire back far enough to give me enough length to add the pin to the center hole that was removed and then tap the other end to the marker bulb wire on the side of the headlamps, after all they are running lights. Buuuut I opted not to because I actually dig the headlights with just the DRL’s on. And as far as voiding your warranty that’s incorrect. That won’t void your warranty however if you brought the truck in for a problem like the light stopped working and I deemed it to be caused by the wire you tapped in, you would be responsible for the repair, not warranty.

    None. Stock from the dealership.
Hello Zach, you got me started on it again, I played with cars and trucks for over 50 years and got burned out on that heavy duty stuff, but a wiring job shouldn't be that difficult except for the connectors, which a parts house should have (I hope), next would be, which wire to tap into, YOU obviously know which one I need, I haven't unwrapped that loom yet, there has to be a s____ load of wires under there. Would you be so kind as to identify which one for me, PLEASE.
I was prepared to pay the dealership for the addition until (Rich) said it would void my warranty. Then I dropped it. Now I'm cranked up again. The light is not a big deal, but it's there and I want to use it, just to be different.

I already installed my bar with no issues and followed the instructions to a T, clipping the blue wire as stated. Are you saying that you cannot de pin and move the pin for brighter turn signals after installing per the NSV instructions? Or can I move it without issue?

If you repinned your factory harness to fix the turn signal, then later get the lightbar, you will need to restore your factory pinout, then on the nsv harness to the turn signal, cut the outer blue wire, then move the center wire back to the outer 28w filament. The harness expects factory wiring, but you can fix the turn signal at the nsv plug, the same way you originally fixed the factory plug.

I have not re pinned yet or to clarify, moved the pin on the turn signal to the brighter location, but have already installed the bar with perfect function.

Yes, it works fine if you haven't altered your factory plug or run leds. It's simply a reminder to anyone who has or gets their recall done that the nsv lightbar harness expects the original wiring and pinout

hello all, on this subject, I had my truck serviced at my dealer on Friday. After the service they had me schedule for two recalls on the truck. One being the fuel pump and the 2nd is for dim turn signals. So, there is a recall to change the wires around as discussed in the thread. Check with dealer for the recall and save yourself some time. Hope this helps out.

Before the recall everything is perfect.

After the recall remedy as what they told me that they unplugged my nsv harness. I noticed that when i replugged the nsv harness my front turn signal is not working and my left rear turn signal is hyperflashing.

    im so upset...

does anyone experienced this scrnario also..

It's elsewhere in this thread (?) I think you have to take it back to the way it was so that you can clip the blue wire so everything will work properly is what I've seen. (Post #216 above) @KERNEL_DALE

The way I understand it is that you have to take the turn signal lights back to the way they were before the recall because the NSV light was designed to the way the truck was when it came from the factory. The NSV lightbar is expecting original wiring in order to work properly.

@KERNEL_DALE If you were to repin your turn signal back to the way it was (prior to the recall fix) your NSV lightbar would work when you plugged it back in.

Before recall everything is in placed and working just fine.

if i removed the harness n put back the factory wire it all works. I just dont understand why after the so called remedy it turns out the left front turn signal not working and the rear turn left signal is hyperflashing

Before the recall fix you had 2 wires coming out of a 3 wire capable plug. 1 on the right and 1 in the middle, resulting in a dim front turn signal. The recall only consists of taking the middle wire out and moving it over to the far left, giving you a bright front turn signal. Taking the wire from the outside hole and putting it back in the middle will result in a dim front turn signal but your NSV lightbar will work again. @KERNEL_DALE

Is that the factory wire you mean? That connects to the nsv harness?

@KERNEL_DALE If you follow this thread from the beginning (time consuming I know) it will walk you through the whole process. It is SUPER easy to do. Too bad we don't live closer I could show you easier than I can tell you how to do it.

Not the wire that connects to the NSV harness, the wire that is in the plug for the turn signal. If you move it from the outside back to the middle and then plug your NSV light in again (don't make any other changes besides moving the wire in the plug over 1 slot) your NSV light will work again.

Let me go take a pic of my plug end and I'll post it up so you can see it. BRB

The black/white wires need to go back to the middle hole in order for your NSV lightbar to work again.

I had my '19 Limited in for the fuel pump recall and the tech also applied a recall for the connector on the front right and left.

I just noticed my 2019 qualifies for the turn signal recall as well. Any idea was exactly they do to 'modify' the wire harness? Don't really want my harness getting hacked up with butt connectors. I may decline this recall unless I can get some solid info on what exactly it is they're doing to fix the issue.

They do exactly what is outlined in this thread - the harness gets repinned. No cutting/splicing.

I thought there is a pending recall for this. At least there is in Canada. Apparently still waiting on parts.

No I believe the wiring harness to fix the dim led turn signals.

No new harness needed, it’s just moving one wire on the existing harness
