Get any 34R AGM battery along with this sdhq battery hold down

    https://sdhqoffroad.com/collections...dhq-built-toyota-34r-billet-battery-hold-down

The R designation puts the positive terminal location where it should be. These 34R batteries have way more options and are therefore easier to find and way cheaper sacrificing only a little power compared to the 27F

I currently have an AGM 27F X2 Power but if I could do it over again I’d do what I mentioned above

If you have a Batteries + Bulbs nears you I would highly recommend getting a AGM battery from them ASAP. The battery is $360 but hear me out:
    • You get a $18 core trade in
    • $20 mail in rebate
    • There is a 10% off if you do buy online pick up in store
    • If you have an ebates account (from Rakuten) you currently get 10% cash back.
    • Whatever % cash back your credit card gets

If you do all the above you’re going to get that battery for an absolute crazy steal. Under 300, including tax, for the X2 27F AGM; not bad..

I'm one year into an AGM X2 power from Batteries plus. I did end up installing a HKB voltage booster a month or two back because the system was only charging around 13-13.5 volts and the AGMs like a higher charging voltage. It now charges 13.5-14v. I'm about $350-375 into at this point so I'm hoping I get 10 years out of the battery. No issues yet.

Don't forget about the 5yr replacement warranty. That's pretty good.

I have 2 Rural King AGMs in FJ and Tundra. Great power and will sit for 2 months and start fine. Very reasonable.

    I second this as well.

For for Advanced Auto (Johnson Control) AGM, been running strong for like 3 or 4 years. I think I paid $130 for it after sales, promotions etc.

No kidding. I have the same setup minus the voltage booster. How does this setup work?
OP- I am a fan of the X2 from Batteries Plus. (Rebranded Northstar with a year extra warranty)

My layman’s understanding is they use a diode in the fuse on the circuit that regulates the alternator output to fool the alternator into giving you a little more juice. They have a set diode version which ups voltage by approx .4-.5 volts and a different model with an adjustable diode to allow you to gain 0 - 1 volt in .2 volt increments.

Be prepared for a long wait if you order one as this product comes from Australia.

I work for a battery company, and I know JCI (Clarios) and Deka (East Penn) batteries. Them with Exide are the NA dominates. NorthStar is up there too. I prefer to buy the cheapest AGM battery with the best warranty. Wal Mart EverStarts are often made by JCI or Deka just private labeled.
You can never beat a good warranty for a low price.
