What kind of scanner? Many have very limited capability. With all the lights on your going to have stored codes.

I hope you are at your home buddy. How annoying. If you are at home, can you take the negative cable off of the battery, lock it up, go inside and have a beverage? See if a night w/no battery helps it reset maybe?

@Youngfrankenstein is thinking back to when Toyota didn't expect you to read the owner manual. Now when you shift the transfer with a knob, the legend on the knob says "2WD" instead of "H2" range. Better for a clientele who doesn't need to know what's happening underneath.

I thought I seen somewhere from another Tundra owner he experienced the same issue and it was a bad battery.

My brother had this issue of not coming out of park on a 4 Runner. Turns out the fuse for the brake lights was blown. Replaced it and all is good. I have not gotten my Tundra yet, should be here by early Sept. Do they have a slot next to the shifter that you can insert your key to get it out of park in a situation like this?

This or a bad alternator. I had the same symptoms happen to me, not on a Tundra but in the end it was the alternator. Good luck.

Rodents, perhaps? I've read similar symptoms after mice/rodents have chewed on things in the engine bay.

This happened to my Mercedes E350. Harshest part of winter, rodent went to seek refuge in my garage, saw those tasty German wires and went to town. Fired it up that morning, the dashboard lit up like a christmas tree. Fortunately it went into reverse and drive though. Drove it to get it fixed. $150 in wires and $2500 in labor, auto insurance covered it. I think they seen a thing or two. I finally traded that depreciating beast in and got the Tundra. Tundra doesn't fit in the garage so maybe it won't have the same problem.

Looks like a module is not playing nice on the CAN. We see this kind of crap on GM's all the time. No P codes, dash lit up like a Christmas tree, and really weird electrical bugs... I would scan it with something capable of communicating through factory CAN protocol and not OBD2. Guaranteed there's some weird U codes in there...

This happened to me a few years ago. Did you recently fill your tank? In my case, it was caused by bad gas. Very scary experience.

Truth! I had two GM cars that would go into limp mode randomly. Too hard to troubleshoot. Only fix was to disconnect battery to hard reset the ECM.

This is most likely an electrical problem - bad fuse, battery, etc.

i had rats chew up my main harness. It sucked to the tune of several hundred dollars. I did't get all the lights, but I couldn't get it over 45 MPH or to shift past 4th gear.
