Thanks for all the awesome posts re: the 5100s, but I’m still a little confused. I see most are using the middle setting (1.57”), but by my calculations this will not level the truck.
I have a stock 2020 SR5 TSS Off-road 2x Crewmax with 7k miles. No lift or mods. I only want to level... and not jack the TSS.
    Middle rear fender 39.0”
    Middle front fender 36.0”

If I go maxed out (2.2”), wouldn’t I still have ~3/4” of rake???? Am I missing something???

Double the change in distance between the clips due to the shocks mounting halfway up the A-arm.

The top setting looks a slightly nose up, the middle retains a little rake. Don't worry about the measurement, use the search bar to look at other members trucks and see what you like the best. There's so many threads full of pictures of these bilsteins on the middle and top setting

Here's the middle, if that looks like too much rake, use the top setting

Thank you. From Bilstein’s instructions it seems those are final ride height adjustment estimates, not measurements on the shocks.

Curious, how’s the drive quality compared to the stock?

In fairness, your pic is probably one of the better ones as far as being squared up and being able to see the subtle differences. This said, I want it as close to level as possible with out going noise high. I see some posts say it looks nose high, but it is actually not. Also, seeing the other measurements in the other 5100 threads, I haven't seen a stock 2x4 with 39" at the bottom of the rear fender.... so looking for advice on if I can get away with "2.2inches lift" per Bilstein's install sheet.

Here is Texas, most come with the port installed 3+1 lift, so I don't have one to compare/view. I garage mine at work and home, so did not want to risk the lift.

I did the top setting and the nose was high. Added a 1 inch block in the back and it looks level to me. Sorry no pics.

If you search on this forum there are TONS of threads on this topic. You’ll get responses all over the place. Some say it’s better, some say no real difference, some will say it’s worse. It’s a highly personal experience.

I put 6112s on my 2019 and the best description I can offer is ride is more planted. It’s not smoother in my opinion but handles bumps, etc. better. I don’t do a lot of off-roading either.

The rake is there so you don't squat when loaded.

I've also not had any issues with TSS with the level or with the older pro grille I added 2 years ago.

I kept a 1” rake in the truck with +1 shackles... I was hauling about a 1,000 lbs of dirt and the truck was a little nose high (maybe 1/2”-1”).

Mine are on the middle setting and the ride is really good. Granted this is coming from worn out stock suspension on an 08 with 110k, but I would imagine a lot of people are as well. I would describe the ride as smooth and capable feeling. It is not jarring or rough at all, but feels planted and responsive. I’ve had Bilstein upgraded shocks on many different cars and this is a common characteristic of them.

Should have also mentioned that I think my leaf springs are a bit worn. The previous owner hauled a lot and they don’t have much arch, so the rear might be an inch lower that stock.

I'm at mid perch, but I wanted to keep a rake. Ended up at 38 3/8" and 39 3/8" ground to arch. 08 with 116k.

You can buy the shims to completely level out at top height or compensate for the driver's side lean.

Bilstein 5100 mid setting in front with 5100 in rear. Oh, and it didn’t mess with my TSS sensor.

Dam this is how I want my truck to look once I'm done with MODS (and have more money). So the rear you left at regular settings? Is you truck a TSS package?

thanks man....yes for the rear I just replaced the shocks with the 5100. No added blocks/leafs/etc. yes it’s a TSS off-road package. I removed the decals, swapped out the tires for 34”s and color matched the bumpers along with adding a 2019+ TRD pro grille.

I'm still learning the different tire size but I'm guessing 34"s is somewhere is the 285 70 size? Do they stick out a lot?

my stock tires were 275/55r20 and my new tires are 275/65r20, so the width is the same, the diameter is bigger. I got lucky with the new tires-my buddy had these on his new truck and he got 35s and sold me his 34s for $300 total.
    upload_2020-7-27_8-34-26.jpg

no, they don’t stick out much which is the look I’m going for.

Factory 20's or you have some with a different offset? Stance looks great!

thanks man....yep just the factory 20” wheels. The tires also provide an extra inch of lift since they are 2 inches taller than factory tires
