They're definitely not the same plugs. Wires don't even match up. I have a column shift assembly and it's a single plug I think I posted a pic earlier in the thread.

    Crap!
I didn't see your pics in the thread of the column shifter.
Either way I'm in it deep now.
I have the console and the shifter assembly.
Once it comes in I'll do some searching inside the dash and under the carpet.

Did you pull a piece of plastic and expose the ECU while installing the console? I expect the cables will be shoved in there.

I did. I just was so excited to install the console I didn't even look. Lol
But as soon as the shifter assembly comes and I have a minute I will search in Hope's everything I need is there.

Good luck.. Wait also did you get the actual shifter cable? They don't stock it at LKQ it attaches to the assembly goes out the floor of the truck and attaches to the transmission.

No I was hoping I could just reroute the one for the column shifter.
I think I will need the little piece that holds the cable in place to keep it from moving the entire thing and just move the cable.

The column shifter cable has to go through the same hole as the cab is the same between the two options.

Oh nice! Can you post pictures of how yours is routed? That's kind of where I stalled on my swap. That and I need to tear my Dash out to see if the cables I need are stored in there anywhere.

    Yes absolutely.
I had originally planned on taking a lot of pictures and writing up a how to.
But I'm like a little kid when it comes to new parts and I just install them as soon as I get them. Haha

So this morning I took a couple minutes to remove the top portion of the console and I cut a little bit of the carpet and saw that the bolt holes for the shifter assembly are there.
Couldn't see any harnesses but I need to remove the front portion of the console to see up under the dash.

Okay so did a little poking around and found a part number on a harness that I believe goes to the column shifter.
Haven't tried searching on line yet but will after I post it up here.

Also question for those with the column shifter...

Do you have steering wheel tilt and telescope and if so, is it powered?

I would imagine the column shifter needs a new plastic collar for the steering column and I’m curious if there’s a hole for the tilt and telescoping column.

Wheels, center console swap, tinted windows,
I have a base model and I have tilt but no telescoping.
I took out the center console today to dig under the carpet and behind the dash.
    No luck at all.
    No plugs.
And I rerouted the cable to come from the proper spot to connect to the console shifter and there is a rod that is too short. The rod connects the shifter cable to the shifter and a bracket on the shifter but the shifter was in reverse and the truck was in park.
So a cable is definitely needed.
And I would assume there is an entirely separate harness to go from the ecu/tcu to the shifter and the transmission.
I need to find a junk tundra. ASAP

Any updates on this? I'm in the process on doing the swap but will be keeping the shifter on the floor. Simple and easy currently got the seat bolting down.. next step is make a bracket to move shifter over 2inches and build a console to cover shifter and add cup holders.

I ve always wanted to stick a sub in the center console. I would seal it up, and point it to the back. That solves location problem, and not limited to shallow sub.

It's already been moved. Just needed to push it forward and centered as I'm keeping it on the floor for a easy swap back if I ever wanted to.

The benefit is the center passenger has
    Something to hold onto.

I think I’m going to do the same as you! It would be nice to fit my family of 6 in my truck instead of always having to take my wife’s van places. May I ask where you found your center seat?

I wish the Tundra had the option of the column shifter w/ 6 seats in the upper trim levels.

I haven’t bought a truck yet, and honestly this is probably the biggest strike against the Tundra for me.

I would just get a sr5 with the bench seat and upgrade it frm there.. your not missing out of anything with the added trim levels that you can't add aftermarket or oem swaps..

That was my whole delima as well. Family of six and rather take the tundra most places as well. I got lucky and found a guy local that did a swap for a center console. But you can get them off ebay or check your local wrecking yard or car-parts.com. 07- up will fit.. best to look for one that has the same Interior or just get a seat cover like I did.
