Well I’d call this a successful weekend, anyone else have trouble popping the upper ball joint out of the spindle? 4 trips to auto zone and O’reilly to rent tools but we got it done

There’s really no way to lift it more with coilovers without LT huh? And I’m not feeling a body lift ahh

Quality Truck parts aren’t cheap. And no you can’t compare a spindle to a full long travel kit in cost.
    $1800 for spindle. Done-

    2350$ for the basic kit
And in reality you should get the spindle anyways for strength and removing the preload from your coils. Huge upgrade.
New shocks cuz yours won’t work-1300$?
    Steering upgrades.
    Fenders-350+-
    Paint?
    Bumper?
Endless fixing things like sheet metal fixing other parts failing from abuse etc
Proper set up/fab/install. Cuz if you struggled with an upper arm good luck.
    Just a basic break down.

This is funny asf to me I only had problems because I didn’t have the right fucking tools and when you have connects with camburg the possibilities are endless and explain to me why these coilovers wont work for Lt? The possibilitys are endless for these coils and the bumper? when you weld all you do is buy the steel piping I’m lost on what’s so expensive half these kits come with the damn lift spindle do your research before you run your mouth lmao

They're not nearly long enough. If you have connects with Camburg and don't believe it, ask them.

The stock upper ball joint is a bitch to get off without removing the spindle. There just isn't much room to get a big enough tool in there. I had to cut the end of a wrench off and use a cheater pipe to get leverage.

If you just want lift, and you don't have ABS, i would definitely consider that 1800 spindle. You've already got a nice set of coilovers, you've just finished putting on arms that run $600 (without discounts). Neither of which will work with long travel and won't sell for half of what you paid. You'll pull 5" of lift up front with the spindles, gain track width, and gain serious strength. Bonus is they come with new hubs, bearings, and longer studs.

Long travel is gonna run you into the 5k neighborhood fast for the front alone, add a few thousand more for the rear. If you want to invest that's awesome but you said you want lift so not sure that ride is worth the price.

Just an observation.....I would replace those wheel spacers with hub centric spacers or get a different offset wheel.

What’s funny asf to me is you ask basic questions get a basic response then turn into basic bitch. Only a camburg/solo —RACE KIT—comes with a spindle and that kit costs more then your truck all said and done lmfao

So with these spindles, how does lift work really? I'm sitting at 3" with coilovers already and these spindles I believe are rated to get about 3", would that be about 6" or stay about 3"? Sorry, I'm new to spindle lifts Honestly didn't know they made some for our trucks, so I'm intrigued now

@ajmorenoaz depends what size tire you want to run. Good news is your Camburg arms provide more clearance than stock arms.

Common tire size is 285/75/16 or 285/70/17. You should be able to fit either if you find a wheel with width of 8 or 9" and 4.5" backspace or less, 4" backspace and 8" wide is best.

If you want to run a bigger tire than that youd have to do serious surgery to cut and tub the pinch weld area between the frame and your doors.

I pumped grease in until it was oozing out of each side, then put the truck down, bounce the truck, then tighten the pivot bolt.

Yea pump it until the grease comes out of each side and I wouldn’t even worry about bouncing the truck, I did it while the control arms were off the truck did I fuck up lol

You should be fine as far as grease, but you really want to put the pivot bolt on loose and bounce the truck before you torque it down. I like to drive in and out of my driveway, or go over a speed bump slowly a few times. That makes sure the bushings are not twisted, then you torque the pivot bolt while the truck is on the tires.

A lot of guys fuck this part up and torque the pivot bolt while the truck is in the air, that binds up the bushings at ride height and theyll make noises in 2 years.

yes you could effectively have 6 inches of lift, or even better you can turn your coilovers down so it will ride better and have 5 inches.

one option for the rear of a gen 1 is a shackle flip to get 4 inches of lift or so

Which methods? How wide are they and what is the offset? That can be converted to backspace and then you'll know.
