Did you use to have a regular key and then a fob? I’d love to have this for my 05 AC. What would I need to do to get this key?

Do you have a current FOB? If so, what is the FCC ID on the back?

I checked toyota.com\owners, and there is no listing for any keyless entry on my truck.

I just bought my 05 DC, and it didn't come with any key fobs. Did all trucks come with keyless entry, or was it an option? I want to make sure my truck is capable before I start this process.

It was an option on the SR5 and Standard on the Limited, which is weird cause it was standard on SR5 ACs...I will say I've not come across a DC without it in any year...call your local Toyota dealer with your VIN, they should be able to tell you if it had it or not.

Thanks for the info. I called my dealer, and my truck didn't come with keyless entry.

2002 Tundra Factory alarm. Randomly the doors will lock when the fob has not been depressed. Sometimes, I hit the button to lock and it then locks and a moment later unlocks. The inside of the fob looks clean and the battery is good. Ideas?

Mine does this (not randomly) but everytime I enter from only the pass side door. It will lock on its own within 10 seconds as soon as the door shuts. The FOB has nothing to do with it in my case. Its been doing it for a few years. Doesn’t happen on the drivers side.

Also, my door chime doesn’t work when the pass side door is open like it does with the driver. I wonder if the two are related? I’ve not dived in too hard in this, but from some general reading there may be a fix via the Toyota programming through the OBD?

My issue is not related to the passenger's side door but it does seem to happen within 10 seconds or so of depressing the fob. Yesterday, I closed the doors, pressed the fob to lock, "chirp," and then within 10 seconds another chirp and the doors unlocked. I definitely did not bump the button on the fob. This has happened about 5 times in the last 10 days or so.

Its probs a simple fix, but not worth the track down time for me.

These systems have many optuons that can be customized. One is the auto relock if the door isn't opened within a certain amount of time.

@Professional Hand Model sounds like your truck isn't registering your passenger door opening. (and therefore relocking after 10 seconds). Perhaps your door switch is bad. Does your interior light come on when you open the passenger door??

@robabeatle perhaps your issue is happening due to the truck thinking something is left open? Door, hood? Just a guess? I know on some newer vehicles if you leave your fob in the car it will cause the car to unlock and beep after 10 seconds. Do you have a spare fob in your car or something?

Yeah. I replaced both door switches last year with Wells (Toy OEM). When I open the Pass Side suicide door the light comes on. Short maybe?

I doubt it. Prob just keyless entry installed wrong (not hooked to pass for switch). Many of these "factory installed" keyless entry systems where actually installed by the dealer before sale.

Thanks for posting the PDF with the Double Cab key programming dance instructions. I only have 1 fob right now, but ordered a new one on Amazon that matches my current FCC code.

Possible the 02 and older being dealer installed 90% of the time I believe it would of been in the manual with the rs3200 setup

    Hi there everyone,
I recently purchased a 2002 Tundra SR5 AC V8 from it's original owner. So far i have replaced the seat belt, with the help of Professional hand model and lssami's help, changed all of my interior lights out to LED thanks to this forums help...and soon enough will be embarking on changing out the timing belt / accessories belt, thermostat and water pump. So for starters, thank you! Appreciate this community and the help everyone graciously gives!

When i bought the truck, it didn't come with FOB's. The lock set on the drivers side was broken so that it would only turn in the unlock direction, not lock. I pulled the lock set and fixed the tumblers...but given i would like to go easy on the lock AND the added convenience of unlocking / locking my truck with a remote seems important.

Would anyone be able to help me track down what remote i need to order? Here is the facts i know:

    • It was factory installed (attached image).
    • It is a RS3000 system (attached image).
    • The box itself has an FCCID stamped BAB237000-129 on it (attached image).
I know there are two keys out there: BAB237131-022 and BAB237131-056. Will either of those work for my truck? Do i need an exact FCCID Match to BAB23700-0129?

Any help would be super appreciated here!

    Cheers!
    Josh

I got mine at carandtruckremotes.com, for my '06 Tundra, for $59. The directions to program it were crazy and fun, and they worked. The only mistake I think I made was on one step I held the button down for 2 seconds instead of 1.5 seconds...I guess my sense of half a second isn't that great (grin!)
Edited to add: I bought my truck without a fob, so I couldn't look up the information on the back of a fob. According to the Toyota dealership (who told me it that a fob would cost me $159 plus whatever time it took them to program it (!!!)) which fob to get depends on whether it was factory installed or dealer installed. I asked carandtruckremotes.com what fob to order based on the year, make and model of my truck, and might have just gotten lucky to get one that worked. But since they said I could return it for only shipping (they quoted $2.62, I think), I figured it was worth it to order one of them and if it didn't work, to send it back order the other one.

Well..I ordered the BAB2371-022 from ebay. I'm not getting anything at all. I decided that maybe it was the ECU and I ordered another from ebay for $25. No dice on that either. I'm at a loss for the moment and if anyone has some ideas, I would appreciate it.

    Wrong remote? Bad wiring?

Here is the link to the remotes i bought.
