I understand that your main dig is FB. But this forum is more of a knowledge base than FB will ever attempt to be. How many more times do you wanna hear about which LBJ to buy? Or max tire size? FB is for the dumbasses. This forum is where you can find educated dumbasses who post educated guesses to peoples problems. Just hang out here a but and see how much better it is than FB.

As a note, I asked about how to loosen my UBJ on FB seeing as how I was banned from here. I received about 0 helpful posts, 10 telling me to hit it harder with my purse, and 300 about how not to use moog. I'm just saying, there's a reason most of us don't co-mingle. The FB page is shit. If you come over here you can get all your knowledge to people who will actually use it, not posers with purses.

 

Wooo weeeee! Sounds like a high dolla upgrade with lots of peripheral work outside of just replacing the calipers and rotors.

Looks to be $1000+ for new: rebuilt calipers, pads, rotors, double diaphragm, remote LSBP Valve.

Stoked for whoever does this. I’d love to be able to compare the upgrade coming from 13WL having just upgraded from seized 13WE.

 

I'd like to see some 60-0 numbers too. Even if they dont go down much, I'm betting the fade resistance improves greatly.

You don’t really “need” the portioning valve upgrade. The remote setup just allows you to control brake pressure instead of weight in the bed.

I do believe I’m going all in though. The rear disc conversion, coupled with this front brake setup and a sequoia master.
Should make the truck stop like no other and even better, no more drums. I hate them. Seriously. They work well. But that damn squeak unless you blow $100 a drum for new Toyota ones

Has anybody purchased these calipers or gotten a hold of the OP? I rang the phone number and left a voicemail about a week ago and have not heard back.

Anyone find a mill shop to get these milled out? Really want to do this upgrade.

 

Looks like he sells them already machined: "I sell either Silver Zinc coated or Red Powder coated machined Calipers for $350.00 a set with no core charge. Shipping usually ranges from $30-$40."

 

On FB he saids he's between moving shops, so he may be busy with that.... "Due to recent events I am in transition between shops and I have significantly reduced intake of customer vehicles until I can get back to a position where I can be up at full operation once again.

"If you have reached out in the past and tried to call me or even schedule an appointment I am sorry for not being able to get back to you at this time.

"I have an overwhelming amount of people reaching out to me everyday and it simply has become too much for me to maintain interacting with each person. I found a local shop to mill mine it was only 30 bucks a piece

Anything we should know before buying/installing?

 

I've seen some talk about people having to trim their dust shield but I didn't need to.

It was straight forward swap. Brake lines were a pain and needed a little adjusting but I used the stock lines and got everything bolted up as it was, just bigger.

 

Did you have the WL or WE calipers originally? I learned that the brake lines are actually different depending on the caliper.

Nice, how much of a difference did you notice? I've got the WL but they're not enough for me.

 

At first, I didn't think it was that much because I did a quick drive of about a mile but after doing a hundred plus miles of normal driving I can tell a significant difference. The brakes were terrible and I was nervous anytime I had to suddenly brake. Now, I still get a quick panic but as soon as I hit them they work and the panic goes away immediately.

Not sure if that makes sense but that's the best way I can describe it without scientific data to show the improvement.

 

I need to upgrade because I still have a ton of brake fade. Normal driving is fine but if I ever have to do any heavy braking it's horrible. I have zero faith that I can stop.

 

I’ve found that towing, my brakes are going to kill me.

 

Reason why I recco towing under 4k lbs. with our trucks. The 5900lb spec limit is scary larry.

I bought their Calipers individually off Big Gurrl. Also, bought their Pads individually. Bought some High Dolla Sham Wow Shims from the Stealer ($40). @bmf4069

Shoulda just bought the Toy Shoes from Stealer as the come with the High Dolla Shims. Realized that after the fact. My overall cost would have been the same with better OEM Toy Pads $90.

 

My no name rotors, installed 2 years ago, are holding up fine.
