I recommend the ESP "Long Box". It is more expensive, but it is a single long compartment and has 2 lockable lids. I use mine a lot for long rifle weapons

    Couple of questions.

After installation, is the storage compartment easy to remove? Anyone with the ESP Storage have weathertech mats in their back seat? I have weathertechs and am thinking of getting the aluminum storage. I am thinking if I cut through the weathertechs as well, it will help keep the mat in place. If I screw it up, I will just get another mat for the back that doesn't go up and under the seat. Thoughts?

Yeah easy to remove and I cut through my husky mats. You will have 3 holes in the floor if you remove it though.

Did anyone put sound deadener on the bare metal? Did it make a difference?

I did. Hard to tell but had some left over from the doors so it didn’t hurt.

I just did this mod and cut on the outside of the trace line like their video said. Unfortunately its not real tight. Disappointed I didn't see this write up earlier. Any new folks that read this, if my slow meticulous cut is any example I would be cutting inside the line like the suggested if I had to do it again.

It's not horrible but my hunting property is really rocky and bumpy. My plan was to drive with my back seat up with a 50"x 12" cargo net over my bins and to be able to put my bows in there as well. Now I'm concerned the bins will shake or pop out.

If you still have the foam, cut thin strips and put them around the sides and put the bin back in. It’ll help. ESP must have changed the cardboard cutout too because mine had square boxes where others had the actual curved cutouts for the seat bolts. Made install a little trickier to line up properly but I got it done.

Great idea...and I do have the foam..I'll give it a shot. Thank you!. My template was the squares as well that slipped around the seat bases. I thought it was much better for tracing out the boxes. I saw some other videos where folks were complaining about the original template so it looks like he listened to them. I'm happy and would be ecstatic if I would have just cut inside the line like suggested here. Thanks again..

It's not the same depth front to back, but at it's deepest IIRC ESP said it's 4 inches. If you are making a long box you will have to make new seat brackets as well. They run out between the 3 bins.

    Lots.
Installed mine and then cut the Weathertech full coverage rear mat so the insert would fit on top of it. Also installed Kilmat sound deadener to the floor of the cab where the foam was removed for the insert. IMG_0344 copy.jpg IMG_0346 copy.jpg IMG_0342 copy.jpg

Will these ESP bins work in a 2nd Gen, 2010 CrewMax? Has anyone tried it?

Based on ESP’s website it looks like 3rd Gens only.

I will install it. I used the template from my friends order of this and cut all the sections out. Just have bins I bought for a few bucks in there now. Kind of looks fine so who knows if I will ever purchase it

Plan to do this as well. Coming from a 3rd gen Tacoma, granted the truck is smaller over all, it had some nice under seat storage that the Tundra is lacking. I don't offroad at all, but do like to carry assorted tools and straps when towing my boat to the lake. Can't do that right now since there isn't any appropriate storage compartments in the crewmax.

I just got the 2nd gen, and upon a closer look I don’t think it will work as I don’t see a way to flip the rear seat up. Rats!!

Bring on the plastic bins I guess.

I like it because it’s organized and not just shoved under my seat. I do wish they went longer to the back, that’s room that is not being used and could be.

You can use that space - I agree it could be more useful if it was deeper, but the bins keep things from rolling out, so it is like a second row of bins behind the deep ones.

ESP redesigned it so the new ones will work. The issue is there is some wiring (Maybe a sensor or transmitter?) for the 2020 trucks under the middle bin, so the bins wouldn't fit. The new ones from ESP have a slightly shallower middle bin to accommodate the harness, or sensor, or whatever it is.

Just made the install today. As most have said cut on the inside of the line. I used a multitool and it was like cutting through butter with a hot knife. It was difficult to make that first cut in a brand new truck. The white connection in the middle was not an issue. As soon as I felt any resistance i just stopped. Just follow the instructions working from the driver to the passenger side. Thank-you to everyone for your posts. IMG_1203.jpg

Has anyone installed this without the template? I am getting a new truck tomorrow, kept it out of my old one. I know in theory I could lay it down and try to trace it, not even sure if my hand will fit or if I'll actually be cutting out bigger. I did email them asking them if they could send me an empty box if I paid any amount, lol, waiting to hear back.
