    Yep, you should be fine. Mine is about 4800 dry, a bit over 7 fully loaded, water etc. Now, can I feel it, yes, but the truck does pretty good. My rule is that I don't want to go much more than about 70% of a trucks rated capacity and at max load, that's about right where you and I are. Be sure to use a WDH, an absolute must!

    Next we get to the fun stuff like stocking all the necessary RV accessories like a generator.

    My next question was going to be what WDH do you recommend? I have air bags and towed it home with just those, but definitely want a wdh before taking it on a trip. I have a 5500kw generator that I can put in the bed of the truck if needed for self contained times. Need to buy all the new sewer hook ups and such also.

    I have the kind of WDH with the solid bars, not the chain type. I really like it. Just make sure you get one that covers the weight you’ll be towing and one that is compatible with airbags. I don’t think they all are.
    Buy the highest quality sewer hose you can find. If it cracks you quite literally have a shitty situation on your hands.

    You mention a 5500 generator, that sounds like it's probably an open frame construction site type of generator. If it is, don't use it. You will be hated by everybody anywhere near you. Get an inverter generator, so much quieter.

    I also saw the tailgate resting on the tongue jack... I was able to rotate the head on mine 180degrees and now it clears...

    5 years is what I go by on my boat. 5000 lb dual axle 22' Bay. I am running Goodyear Endurance now. You might regret not having a slide if you have to spend any time in it. If just sleeping and eating then no big deal.

    Lol! I would definitely piss everyone off. My generator would be used for remote times where only the animals and trees would lose sleep. I would like an inverted style, but that will have to wait a bit. This will likely be a weekend camper at state parks and such until we decide to venture out further.

    Most state parks I’ve stayed in don’t have hookups FYI. When you add the batteries I suggest you add two for times such as these. They will run the water pump and lighting for three to four days if you are being conscious of energy consumption. I also upgraded to 2- 7.5 gallon propane tanks as well so not to take the chance of the fridge shutting off as it runs off propane when your parked.

    I got the Ryobi inverter generators and I love them. I can lift with one arm and you can choose to run one alone or both depending on your power neeeds. They also have an app that you can monitor load, gas level, run time, and you can also shut them off all from the comfort of bed. When it’s raining I put them under the trailer and chain them to the frame and when I’m ready to cut them off all I have to do is press a button on my phone.
