If you want another rabbit hole to go down, in the 1st gen section, somewhere, there’s a thread “must have mods under 100$” or something like that, CIO(check it out)

Im seeing a trend of people with the limited trims with the fake wood grain blacking out the "wood grain". I'm sorry but why? I totally think it looks way better then the black center piece by the radio and the window controls. Lol

I have the black TRD Sema wheels - I like 'em. A little less offset (i.e stick out farther) than OE rims. I am running 265/70/17, very pedestrian.

I'm doing a brake fluid change, but i was just gonna buy whatever the auto parts store has in stock and change it once a year. Is it really that big of a difference? I'm doing a simple suck it out of the reservoir and put fresh in. Not flushing

You should do a 32oz. flush with DOT3 (cheap!) and that will push all the existing dirty old fluid out. I’d then follow up with one can of El Fluido Supremó 5.1 and push out all the newer DOT3. Double flush! Gotta flush it with the brake pedal pumps using another person. Or, you could get some high dolla self bleeders and do it yourself.

Bleeding brakes is super easy. Even I didn't fuck that up. Everything else yes, but not the brake bleeding.

Its easy. I was a bit scared myself after finding out that brake fluid is slightly caustic and might hurt my hands. Once you do it the first time its easy which is why I recommend doing the DOT3 first. Get your practice in on the inexpensive stuff. My fluid was slightly gnarly and believe I bleed them a total of 3 times before getting the Supremó stuff

First time was a regular bleed. Second was after doing new flex brake hoses. Third was after a rebuild of calipers and rear cylinders. I then bled them a forth time to purge all the cack/rubber grease from rebuild and introduced the Supremó 5.1.

Even into my second bleeding when doing the flex hoses there was a little bit of bad mojo coming out.

We have nothing to fear, but fear itself. Winston Churchill or FDR?

Make it happen! Worst thing that could happen is that you re-bleed the brakes again if air gets in there. Might cost you $9 for another DOT3 bottle 32oz. :notsure:

What climate are you in? I can tell you I'm not bleeding mine until something needs replaced.

I've replaced a handful of calipers after snapping off the bleeder during a brake job and nearly every wheel cylinder. It's not worth the aggravation if you're someplace they salt roads.

I live in the good ole suburbs of chicago. So a shit ton of salt, and this truck was orginally from MA. So yea prob not doing it, will just replace the reservoirs fluid. I have learned a few lessons of if it aint broke dont fix it. Obviously you want to do preventative maintenance but i will just hold off on this one for a while. My fluid as far as i can see is very clean still.

Doesn't it make you wonder exactly how they offer bumpers for the Tundra but have no pics of any on one?

Hey guys im thinking about replacing my rear bumper. Its rusty af. I might sand it and repaint it imperial jade but its missing a small chunk on the side of the bumper. So ive been looking at chrome replacement ones, how exactly would i install this? It doesnt look like i have to take the bumper off of the frame, it looks like it just kinda gets clipped back into my bumper frame. Is this the way to go or should i buy a whole new rear bumper? Im clueless on how the installation would go. Thanks

Way harder and time consuming than brake bleeding! Be scared of this one as replacing that rear bumper is harder than it looks! All those Northeast salted and rusted brackets and bolts will haunt you. You’ll wish you bled your brakes instead of doing the bumper.
