Another suspension thread...

Ok, I think I've got it fingered out.

Quick recap:
I'm after leveled, and do almost no offroad, but would like to be capable if the need arises. I need new springs all around. I dont wanna lift the rear.

So I think this will be what I do:

Front springs/shocks, rear shocks


Rear springs


If I'm gonna get new UCAs anyways, might as well get good shit.


My drivers boot is torn so I'll replace both anyways.


Throw in a new rack and outer tie rods, cam bolts, PS pump, and I think that should handle all my suspension stuff.

Now, is a diff drop kit neccessary with this? And anyone running the OME wanna chime in?

 

That seems like a great plan to me. I think @imDementeD has OME up front.

 

I think the OME setup is a great option! I did go with heavier springs as I have a winch/steel bumper and plan sliders/armor but I will say the 886 springs lifted higher than I expected. I'm sitting at 23.5" from hub to bottom of fender flare.

With the 885's and nothing in the rear, I don't think you will be level. Typically 2-2.5" front + 1" rear levels out. I think the 885's will minimum 2.5" up to 3" in the front.

Still, a great choice but consider a block or AAL in the rear if you want to level.

Overall, you have a great list put together!

 

I'll take some measurements before I order. They also have a kit with 1" AALs for da rear.

Yup, that's what I used. Toyota wanted a years worth of beer money for their bolts and cams. I think they were asking in the ballpark of $300 for the cam bolt set. They must be loving the legal cali needto think I would pay that.


Spc kit at Wheelers is $75, still feels expensive but compared to Toyota it's a steal.

 

Any update on how you like this?

Got it. Thanks. I’m thinking I’ll replace my new Bilstein 5100’s but not sure with what. Ome, Eibach, or others that are recommended.

 

I got to claim my kids this year, plus I was a student. I pretty much became one of the ones that paid no taxes this year. The bottom 50% bracket if you will.
