Interested in starting a hood swap thread as others have created on Tacomaworld. Hoods are easily swapped by the removal of a few bolts. I did it on my Tacoma and I would love to do it on my Tundra!

Looking for: OEM scooped MGM hood
Trade: Non scooped hood + cash
    Location: Denver, Colorado

If you just want the additional hood scoop like on the trd pros, why not just buy the hood scoop and install it yourself on your own hood? what am I missing here

You’re missing drilling numerous holes precisely in my own hood. I’m not afraid of handy work as I’ve installed my own lift kits before but what you’re describing sounds daunting.

They are also available on TRD Sport models as well.

I just took mine off of my Sport to wrap. Here's some before and after pictures + a picture of the holes.

Are you starting a public hood trade thread or just setting up a trade for you? I'm looking to trade my 2020 Superwhite non-scooped hood for a Superwhite scooped hood as well.

    I'll jump in here.

Have: Voodoo Blue non-scooped hood + cash
    Want: Voodoo Blue scooped hood

People will say it's non-functional, but so is your pinky toe for the most part.

I think the chance of owners with scooped hood giving up their hood for non scooped is pretty slim. Its like asking a PRO owner to give-up their stamped bed for a regular bed.

    Just my 2 cents.

OK, Its like asking a Sport model owner to give up their color matched parts (bumper ends, grille, door handles, etc) for chrome ones...

    Again, just my 2 cents.

I had a sport Tacoma order trade me his scooped hood for mine two years ago. Of course with some cash on top. It happens.

    My chime:
    1. The scooped hood doesn’t look that good
    2. Visibility is compromised.
    3. The “scoop” has no purpose, other than, see #1. :crapstorm:

The standard one is better, and if you are not trading for it, you may regret it.
But GL and carry on

I have a 2020 Barcelona Red (4k miles) and would LOVE to trade for a scooped hood near Dallas TX.

Unsure if I want to spend/risk the scoop add on. Wish someone sold the kit pre-painted, but then I would complain it was too expensive :).

I was able to do this on my Taco about 5 years ago. The guy did not like the flashiness of the scoop and traded even up. Any given Sunday, right?

Same here, although my '20 TRD PRO has the scoop...When and who, like Vararam or In Tec going to come out with a real ram air system that modifies the scoop or better yet, both scoops into a functional part of the hood?

Just buy one and use some 3M tape I'm sure the gaps can't be any worse than the OEM one. Toyota should have made this stamped metal hood with a functioning air ram.
