A bit ironic isn't it? I have noticed for a while that forums tend to be busier on weekdays than weekends, with Mondays always being the most active day. At least that is what I have been noticing. Some intrepid mod could probably even tell us the stats on this.

I very rarely open my laptop at home. I do most of my computer-ing on company time. Once I'm away from work, I don't even want to look at a computer screen.

Now the "medical experts" are changing their minds.....I'm fairly confident this is the beginning of the end of all this. Obviously Trump had people that figured this out and that is why Fauchi got pushed aside and Trump started talking about getting back to work. I'm not touting Trump, just pointing out that his behavior makes more sense the last few days if this turns out to be true and I believe it will. And it will look very good on him that he was ahead of the "medical experts"....so if you are a Trump fan (I'm neutral for now) that's good news for November.

This Neil Ferguson guy is the one who created the study that wrongly convinced Boris Johnson to move to the lockdown and away from the UKs initial position which was to let it run it's course. Obviously the Chinese new this WEEKS (if not months) ago and that is why they started easing their lockdowns despite the fact that allegedly it was still spreading like wildfire everywhere else.

Epidemiologist Neil Ferguson, who created the highly-cited Imperial College London coronavirus model, which has been cited by organizations like The New York Times and has been instrumental in governmental policy decision-making, offered a massive revision to his model on Wednesday.

Ferguson’s model projected 2.2 million dead people in the United States and 500,000 in the U.K. from COVID-19 if no action were taken to slow the virus and blunt its curve.

However, after just one day of ordered lockdowns in the U.K., Ferguson is presenting drastically downgraded estimates, revealing that far more people likely have the virus than his team figured. Now, the epidemiologist predicts, hospitals will be just fine taking on COVID-19 patients and estimates 20,000 or far fewer people will die from the virus itself or from its agitation of other ailments, as reported by New Scientist Wednesday.

Ferguson thus dropped his prediction from 500,000 dead to 20,000.

Author and former New York Times reporter Alex Berenson broke down the bombshell report via Twitter on Thursday morning (view Twitter thread below).

“This is a remarkable turn from Neil Ferguson, who led the [Imperial College] authors who warned of 500,000 UK deaths — and who has now himself tested positive for #COVID,” started Berenson.

“He now says both that the U.K. should have enough ICU beds and that the coronavirus will probably kill under 20,000 people in the U.K. — more than 1/2 of whom would have died by the end of the year in any case [because] they were so old and sick,” he wrote.

The Chinese families that live in my hood are out enjoying the spring weather... must be nice not to have pollen allergies. I am sheltering inside, away from the pollen like I do every spring. This time of year I only venture outside for work, and running quick errands. Not much fun, but it beats a nasty sinus infection.

It’ll be our luck that now that we broke our 18 days in a row of rain, the green crap will be around given we are looking at 75-80 highs and no in rain sight :(

Did my part today in social distancing while at Lowes, Napa and Wendys....gotta help some with our local businesses.

Needed more parts to finish my HU project.

Almost 90 here tomorrow... I will run a service call in the morning where the well house is outside deep in the woods, then it's back to the comforts of home for me.

One positive side effect of this thing is that I've seen more kids and parents outside this week than the last 5 summers combined. I'm happy to see people out playing with their kids. I've seen neighbors put chairs out 10 feet apart and hang out. It's awesome honestly.

I get what your saying, I just always think of those as “chain stores” I can definitely see the Napa being a local store. There aren’t to many local mom and pop hardware stores where I live anymore, there used to be an awesome one but he was closing down before all the beer virus broke out.

Should of taken a picture but our local yocal Lowes folks were taking CV real serious today. They were installing 2x2 wood posts at the check out counters and will add plexaglass for separation between us and them. So serious that the country bumkin dudes were joking around with each other as they semi hugged/armed wrestled

My local Lowe's had small tables in front of checkout counters to keep a distance from people and small announcement stands throughout the store reminding people to keep a distance.

Not to get too into the weeds, but it's not some sort of reversal...the author of the Imperial College study says so himself. The new estimates are being reduced *because* of the social distancing measures put in place, and *because* of the increased NHS capacity. The initial estimates were if society enacted no safety measures...that assessment remains. It means their actions are very likely flattening the curve and reducing illness and fatality numbers significantly. Trump didn't figure anything out. Medical experts and epidemiologists did, and when told what needed to be done the UK government actually listened, enacted safety protocols, and appears to be reducing the effects of the virus on the population. In short, it's working. Unfortunately we're behind by weeks so our numbers aren't very good. Hopefully we've enacted enough to keep the numbers as low as possible, though.

Fauchi has more brain cells just in his little toe when it comes to our predictament than anyone living on Pennsylvania Ave. If and only if We all keep in tune with what he and other infectious disease experts are preaching, will this country get past the spiking peak and return to some form of normalcy !

And now the US is now backing down on those predictions:

    https://thehill.com/policy/healthca...rate-models-predicting-signficant-coronavirus

Of course Trump didn't figure anything out, BUT, he was the first political figure to start talking about winding this thing down. If he's right it will look great for him. If he's not, then not so much. This is not a pro-Trump position, it's a political realities position.

The authorities are banking on the fact that most people will believe the lockdowns were effective...but that is simply not possible.. IF the lockdowns were effective, we'll know, because as soon as they are lifted, this will come roaring back. The Chinese would not be able to start opening up again if that was the case....the virus would come roaring back on them....they know the deal because they have dealt with it the longest...they are opening back up because they know it won't come roaring back. They have alot to answer for keeping this info from the rest of the world. These are some long reads, but worth it if you want to understand why the social distance quarantine was NEVER going to be effective at anything but killing the economy. And for the record, I don't dismiss that coronovirus is bad and it is killing people...it's a respiratory infection, especially for older people, and precautions should have been taken (like hard self-quarantines by particularly susceptible individuals), but it's my belief the official actions will prove in the long run to be worse than the flu.....economic downturns kill ALOT of people...plain and simple.

    https://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=238638

    https://market-ticker.org/akcs-www?post=238668

Sorry, that's just wrong....he's been the biggest fear monger there is...and if you read the above articles you'll understand why I say that. I don't want to get to too into it, because this has now turned political and that is a sure way to end friendships on a forum...which I don't want to do, so I won't be posting on this anymore since it will not effect what the outcome will ultimately be anyway. My prediction is we have reached the peak of official induced hysteria and it will be turned down slowly so people don't question the necessity of killing so many small businesses and screwing economic activity. Time will tell. We won't know the real severity of covid-19 till it's all over and it could take as long as a decade to determine the repercussion from the economic impact. Enough on that from me...back to Tundras only for me...

Well it's finally somewhat warm here (53F at the time of this post), but it's 100% humidity. So it sucks outside.

Stepping off a plane in central Indiana is like putting on a wet blanket. A cold or hot wet blanket depending on the month, but a wet blanket nonetheless.

I'm about 80% sure I'm going to use my Trump checks for long tube headers and exhaust. But Dirty Deeds website is tough to navigate. I know almost nothing about this.

What are mid pipes and do I want them? Does it make sense to reuse my 18 year old cats or should I buy new ones? I don't want any check engine lights after this.

I’m not a huge phone talker, but supposedly the best thing to do is call and talk with the legend, the man, the myth. Vs asking other people or even himself on here. I too have some of the same questions. Karma also posted that we can use XYZ headers that are on DD website, w/o air injection tubes for much cheaper than units w air tubes, but the xyz headers are A LOT cheaper than the ones he has specifically listed for our trucks, so I’m not sure why or what’s up w that. I think your pre AI tubes though

Well, been mediating in my underground bunker figuring cures for the CV. Seems everyone is an expert on viruses and the stock market these days so I figure I might as well chime in on the subjects, as well.

Mind you my natural God Given talents are in the Hand Modeling Profession, but we know a few things about hand washing and sanitizers use. Personally, I like ‘Organic Wild Caught Aloe from the South Coast’ type unscented hand creams the best but thats another subject for another time.

Any who, I can rip a socialist/commie a new hole online as well as in person but I’ll refrain because now isn’t the time in America for bickering. Watching the socialist/commies TV news they seem to be fear mongering mixed with glee in the plight we are in. Never let a crisis go to waste is their mantra!

Socialism/Communism actually has killed more people in the world than this virus ever will. Roughly 90 to 120 million deaths can be associated to the commies/socialist just in the past 120 years (do your own homework). Somehow, we as Americans have tolerated their blight and they have infected:

    1) Our media. All 95% of them.

    2) Our Universities. See ‘Hippies’ and ‘Spawn of Hippies’.

    3) Our ‘Pop Culture’ and entertainment. Basically, they have ruined watching everything like movies, sports, and even most TV ‘programming’ with their social groupings classifications, social justice issues, and virtue signaling. They’ve been downplaying The ——— and C———- for years and now they embrace! But we still need Planned Parenthood! ‘Just in Case’ you know.

    4) Social Media. They block and ban people for the same things they do themselves. Give some a pass and ban others.

    5) All the above 1-4 is known as the Gramsian March. Study it up.

Wurrld Peas is important. My 90% Vegan Diet is helping me see things clearly. The other 10% is me sinning due to sitting in a real leather chair at the current moment. Remind me to tell you about some new recipes Mz. PMH made me this week. Purple Carrot rocks!

My stock pick of the week had me up 80% in 4 days but I forgot to hit the buy button. Hate it when that happens.

Still haven’t installed my muffler yet.
