Fog Light Upgrade?

Anyone do this mod? If so, what color and model did you go with? Happy with them? Thinking about doing it....

I recently did the white SS3 Pros. These are a lot heavier than the stock fog lights, therefore the lights tend to bounce around while driving. Other than that, I'm pretty happy with the light output​

 

I got the amber sports. as mentioned above, they’re heavier and my passenger side has some shake, but not bad at all. they’re good enough for me (in Hawaiʻi), since we don’t really have fog or snow.

 

Do a search for my thread with these lights. I was one of the first with them and there is a thread with a lot of information and pictures.

 

Shake can easily be fixed with zip ties

Thanks. I checked your post out. Do they come in the back of the existing fog light or the front?

 

The SS3 weren't much heavier than the OEM led fogs that I swapped out. Needed the zip ties on both.

 

Come in the back or the front? Not following your question.

 

If you're asking about how to install... They install from the front. You just pop out the plastic housing, unplug the harness, pull out the assembly to swap everything over, put it all back together, and viola. Takes about 10 mins.


And yes, add a zip tie to secure the light assembly a little better to the plastic housing to prevent vibration.

They install from the back. Remove lower fender liner. No need to remove the entire bezel. One screw and the fog light housing pops out

 

Much easier to go from the front imo.

You may have to install from behind. Many trucks have blue clips that prevent you from removing through the front.

 

Exactly. I honestly wasn’t even aware installing from the front was even an option.

 

didn't realize there was any blue clips. I have a 2014 SR5 and was able to pull it out from the front. The only thing about these fog lights is that they bounce around. Not sure how a product can be released and customer has to use zip ties. I don't know how I feel about that. Paid almost $300 for these not to use zip ties.

 

nothing to do with the fog lights. It’s Toyota’s bezel that needs reinforcement. It’s just a zip tie. It’s a cheap, simple, permanent solution.

 

My OEM led fogs jiggled about which zip ties fixed, its Toyota's design.

Even the Tundra Pro's with their factory rigid fogs lights need zip ties.

 

I installed the DD Sae fog in clear. I like them they were way better than my stock fogs. for the price its a great bang for my buck. i researched for a while. For the $200 they seem pretty well built I don't really have any shake.
