Hi, questions about the Nitto LT285/70/18 Ridge Grapplers. I was wondering how they worked out on these setups? I have a 2019 Tundra Crewmax TRD off road 2wd that were about to add the
Bilstein 5100 kit and set it at 2.5" front and 0" rear and add these exact Nitto tires on the factory TRD off-road 18" wheels but were wondering how they fit and any rubbing or issues? how they drive and ride? How is traction/handling in the rain and also snow and off-road?
Thank you to all and pics please if you have this setup or close to it and if anyone has another BETTER all around tire to suggestion!?

That's not a very popular tire. Hopefully someone here is running those and will chime in. Otherwise try the search function as a last resort

Thanks @Stig ....I'm for sure open to tire suggestions? We want an overall great tire that can do everything and look a little aggressive.

There are a number of us that run the Ridge Grapplers. I really like them. Had the BFG KO/2 before and like the RG better than the BFG's.

I have the Falken Wildpeak atw/3 and I love them. They seem to have great reviews and are reasonably priced.

Thanks @Sas. What about the ridge grapplers in the ice/snow? I saw on some other reviews people complaining that they are useless for these conditions?

Thanks @Sumo91. I saw these reviewed wonderful and were our 2nd choice to go with only bc the pics online show them not looking as aggressive as the nitto ridge grapplers.....what's your take since owning them and in person?

I feel like they look more aggressive in person, and have an aggressive sidewall. They're quiet on the road too ( to me at least)Snapchat-344711708.jpg

In a 2wd truck, it doesn't really make much difference what tire you use in snow, it's going to be slick. I'm always in 4wd at that point and these handle the snow very well. In the rain these handle well in 2wd. The only time I may break out in normal driving is if it hasn't rained in a while, so there are a lot of chemicals being brought up from the road, and I happen to drive over a painted road section (like a pedestrian walkway) while accelerating.

I feel this statement is not correct to say as some 2wd trucks/tundras do awesome in snow conditions and inclement weather IF the driver knows what their doing and they have proper tires on the truck and the truck has LSD rear end and has proper weight over the rear axle and especially if the truck has been locked with rear ARB locker. Sometimes certain 2wd trucks can perform just as well as "4wd" if not better with all these factors into the equation.

You can inject all kinds of variables to make pretty much any statement contrary to what was generally stated.

I ordered a set of Nitto Ridge Grapplers 285/70R18 about a month ago and haven't gotten around to installing them yet. I settled on them after spending hours researching different sizes and brands. No one had rubbing issues and I found a few posts of some running 1.25" wheel spacers without issue as well (if that's something you're into). I'll be putting them on a stock TRD Pro which I believe has a similar zero-rake to your leveled front end. I have no firsthand experience with them yet, but I did collect a few direct links to posts with pictures that you may find useful.

Another tire I was considering in the same size was the BFG KM3, but it was heavier and some people have complained about excessive noise and uneven wear.

A lot of people on here run 295/70R18. They also look good and most have no rubbing issues (depending on brand), but I personally think they would look stuffed into the wheel wells at my suspension's height.

Were you able to find them anywhere cheaper than $330 a tire?

Not much. They were $322.00 when I ordered them off of Amazon. This was a great deal in my case since I live in Alaska and shipping is normally ridiculously high if it's offered at all. Gotta love Prime's free shipping!

Thank you @ak49 . This helps a ton. Would love to hear from others on here that are running the LT285/70/18 Nitto Ridge Grapplers in all conditions?

Actually after more research, these General Grabber ATX's seem to be one of the best overall options and by users too but would like to hear from anyone on here that's ran these or is running these now? Please help, thanks!
Leaning towards LT275/70/18 on stock TRD 18" wheels with the Bilstein 5100 kit and front middle setting for 2" height. Would be awesome to see this exact setup with pics from anybody on here?! Would help our decision so much, thanks to all!

I have a set of the ATX's on my work truck. To tell you the truth I'm pretty disappointed in them. They are wearing very fast, after about 2500 miles they have increasingly became louder and louder. Very slick in the the rain and snow they r ok. Generals normally have a very hard compound which is why I chose them. They r on a 19 Chevy 2500 6.0 that normally has a gooseneck 4 horse trailer on it. Just fyi for comparison. They have a little over 25,000 miles on them now and in the spring they will need to be replaced. Probably try the Toyo RT's next.

I absolutely love my Ridge Grapplers. To me they are bounds quieter than my KO2s as well.

Thanks @Bakelite. What size are you running and what setup do you have? Have you noticed a huge difference in gas mpg and strain on the truck drive components and power loss?

Aaaaaaand, that's where you lost me. I've done a lot of offroading in my years - and for most of it have done it with 2WD, but I would never in a million years say that any of my 2WD vehicles could perform better than a 4WD counterpart in the same conditions, with the same driver.

OP, in regards to rubbing issues, it is going to pretty much entirely depend on the offset of your rims. You can fit a much bigger tire than those if your offset is right, the sweet spot is around +18 to +30 offset. Factory is like +60 offset I believe, so you'll get a little fatter stance as well.

With regards to the Ridge Grapplers, I just put a new set of 35's on my tundra, but have had a set of 35's on the ranch F-250 for a long time and they're great! Highly recommend them

Here's some pics on the Tundra -- These are 35x12.5xR17's on 17 inch Icon Rebound Rims with +25 offset, no CMC required, just some liner trimming.

I'll offer a different suggestion. ToyoOpen country C/T.. Not as popular on the market but a little cheaper then Ridge Grapplers. Im in NH so we see plenty of snow..These have the 3 peak snow rating. So far I don't have any complaints. I'd say they are similar to the wildpeaks . Worth considering.. I have 295/70 on a 3 inch lift. Wheels are +20 offset.
