I feel like I have spent hours reading threads on wheel and size and tires, and seen multiple opinions saying they will or won't rub, still just as confused as when I started lol.
I have a set of icon six speed sitting in my cart( Keep changing my mind on the color)
And in the process of picking a tire, I know a 285/70r17 will fit, but would a 285/75r17 fit without rubbing? All I have is front bilstein 5100 top setting. I'm fine with removing mud flaps. If anyone has a 2nd Gen with same set up including wheels, any advice? Will the 285/75 be noticable difference for the 70.

I had some 275/60R20(33/10.8R20) on +20 offset 20x9 wheels that would rub at full lock in reverse on a set of pro comp pro runner ss struts at leveled setup (2.5" lift i believe). thats pretty close to what you're looking at with. With the 285/75 being 33.8/11.2, i feel like with that offset/diameter/width you would rub just a lil bit. not extreme, but feel you may need to trim/mold some plastic liner

Thank you for the info. Might just be safe and go with the 285/70s. Dont really go off road other than hoping a few curbs to go fishing but prefer to have clearance without rubbing issues

I doubt the 285/70 is going to rub, but I do think it will look way to small with a lift on your truck. If those two are my only choices I'd go 285/75

I just have a front level so not really much of a lift. I definitely think the 75 would look better but havnt found any to comment if they have that wheel/tire level combo yet. This pic is a 285/70r17

Youll be fine with that offset and backspace, be cautioned however, i did the same and ended up stepping up to 35’s,

Other than removing mud flaps, nothing rubbed?

I’ve got 285/75/17s and I had some rubbing on the front wheel well covers, the plastic lining. Trimmed that up and I was good to go. I have 6112s up front at 1.9. I don’t know my rim off set, but my tires stick out about 1.5 inches from the fender. Not sure if that helps ease rubbing issues or makes them worse.

I like the tire size but sometimes wish I had gone wider.

What wheels do you have, I could probably look up the offset

That’d be cool! A buddy’s dad owns a shop and I gave him a list of what I wanted and he did the rest. We never really talked about off set. They are Method Grid wheels, 17s. Like I said, the wheels stick out about 1-2 inches from the side of the truck if that helps. Thanks!
