Does or did your Tundra, have or come with this metal washer? The Tundra is not new to me had it for about 2 1/2yrs. The metal washer was there when I changed the oil the first time. I did not do the first two or three oil changes. I know the blue gasket gets changed every time I change oil. Thank you. 20200215_091147.jpg

No Toyota uses a bare metal washer like that. Toyota oil drain plug gaskets are aluminum faced with gasket material on each side. That looks like one on the right. Toss that bare metal washer, ID is too large anyway.

Thank you. And do you guy's put a little oil on the blue gasket so it does not stick to the oil pan? Tossed metal washer.

I never have. The drain plug washer is different than an o-ring, where there may be a full turn or more with the dry rubber o-ring trying to adhere to the sealed surfaces. Applying a oil coating wouldn't hurt anything if you want to do that, but may not help you with "sticking" to the pan either. Sticking to the pan isn't usually a big problem, you just have to be sure you remove the old gasket.

For the OP's consideration: get the heck out of the stock oil pan drain bolt business. And install a Fumoto drain valve. On the Life Simplification Scale = 100!!!!
