Has anyone completed their install? I'm a noob to audio and I can't figure a few things out. I've searched some threads but didn't find the exact question answered.

I have non JBL 2019 Tundra purchased the Infinity Kappa Five amp/sub/Hertz Uno speaker kit and keeping the factory head unit.

The speakers connect to the amp as per the manual but where is the ideal location to connect the wire at the new speaker? Do I cut the factory wire and splice somewhere?

Can anyone outline how the Kappa Five amp ties in with Axxess ax-mloc740? The Axxess has two left/two right cable connectors but i don’t see how they connect. The other end of the LOC is white 12pin, where does that connect to?

I have one white 5pin connector, Can anyone tell me where does that goes?

Here is a pic of what I'm talking about. Any help would be great!

I emailed him similar questions and he indicated all solutions were on his facebook page. I couldn't follow anything there as I'm not familiar with facebook.

Have you pulled the factory amp from under the passenger seat yet?

    Do you have RCAs?

I appreciate the help, RCA's ok I see, so there are six rca's hookups in new amp..sub/rear/front so the four from loc go to the four in the amp leaving the sub pair empty?

So to break it down, our stock Non-JBL doesn’t have a sub....the connector with the LOC James sent will connect to the stock connector off the factory amp and that will give the ability for your new amp to run to your door speakers. The speakers in your dash run off the factory HU.

the manual says to run new wires from speakers to the amp...do I need to run new speaker wire from the new speakers to the amp? I thought with the harness I wouldn't need to do that.

No do not run new wires...that is why you have the connector with the LOC

ok that's what I was thinking but then I read the manual... my kit came with 50ft of 14g wire and wasn't sure where that fit in

I would imagine if you got a sub...you are going to need to wire that to your amp.

Did you run the power wire from your battery to the amp location? That will probably be the most “difficult” part....getting that 4ga wire through the grommet in the firewall

Also if you got new Hertz door speakers you will have connectors for those from James that connect to the factory speaker connectors....be careful connecting them to the posts on the new Hertz speakers they are tight/hard to push on, you don’t want to break a post...also you will need some posi taps or t-taps to connect your tweeters

Really? This gives me zero confidence since I don't have that option. I'm guessing I'll have to add on to this thread once I start digging into my system that just got delivered, but that won't be until it warms up since I have to do it outside.

Got the sub but that distance to the amp is short so I was wondering about all that wire that was included...in short I was over thinking it.

I feel good with that as I've installed a couple light bars and an auxiliary Blue Sea fuse block in my 4runner. (looking to do same with my Tundra) The one thing I'm wondering is which side to run it. I'm thinking passenger as I may only have to tip the seat back and not remove it? I like the idea of running the wire along the back of the engine bay.

Thanks for the tip on the connectors, I'd typically rush something like that. I have used positaps on my 4runner and really like them!

sounds great @LogCabins advice will really help guide you when you get going on this if you're a noob like me. I have a tendency to over think any electrical projects i do so there's that as well..

I did this over the weekend. Hit me up if you have any specific questions.

If you haven’t put the wire through the firewall grommet yet, consider getting an olfa-type knife because you can slide the blade into the grommet hole to make a couple cuts which loosens the sphincter.

I think you could help this guy out immensely if you could take a few picks of the amp hooked up, so he could see the connectors (5pin and 12pin) and where the RCAs from the LOC go

I’ll see what kind of pic I can get with the seat in. He’s probably doing what I did with overthinking it. James makes it so we don’t have to think so when we do we get confused!

@2chains did James send you the installation instructions? Page 13 has a pic of the back of the kappa amp with the wires inserted.

And the second picture is a different amp and it shows three sets of rcas. I only got two. And he said I only need two. He said I hAd something turned off but when I did the rca splitter it worked

@Alexstundra do you have the infinity kappa 5 amp? If so, settings are on page 16.
