Hi All. New to the forum. I have a 2019 Tundra Crewmax that I plan to upgrade the audio system. Most likely will keep the HU, but looking for the best "kit" to purchase for the speakers, amp, sub, and wiring harness. I see a lot of people seem to use ********* or Tech12 so I will look at both, but any other recommendations would be appreciated.

Welcome to the forum. I just did a full upgrade through James at Tech12Volts and could not be happier with the result. James was as helpful as everyone says he is and shipping was timely. His price on equipment cannot be beat as he includes all the extra pieces you will need. I removed HU, amp, and every speaker and replaced with a Kenwood HU, and a JL Audio package for speakers, subs, and amp.

Do yourself a favor and watch lots of YouTube tear-down/install videos to make the installation go as smooth as possible.

I did send an email to James, but no reply yet. Does the Kenwood HU you chose have the full capabilities of the stock unit Toyota puts in the vehicles?

Check out Crutchfield.com as well. They have a good customer support service as well.

I chose a HU that does not have a CD/DVD slot so I lost that ability. In 3 years, I never once put a disc into my Entune unit. Otherwise, when setup with a Maestro RR module you will have access to everything you had before and more in terms of viewing system info and changing settings. If there a particular function you are concerned about losing? The only thing I miss is having a roller knob for volume control but the benefits of the new HU far outweigh that minor issue.

I could care less about CD slot actually, as I am the same as you and never use it. More concerned about the dash board interface and keeping it a clean look as well as keeping my Sirius/XM capabilities.

All of that functionality is maintained except you will no longer get navigation prompts on your steering wheel micro-display. There is an adapter module for XM to work with your new HU. Here is a pic showing how it looks installed with the Scosche dash kit -

Looks fantastic. Maybe I will think about the HU upgrade as well......
When I get hold of James I will have to ask for a system with and with out the HU change and figure out what I want.
