Any OBDII gurus know if the 2004 sends a door open signal?

Just trying to figure out if the 2004 DC sends a door open signal to the main ECU. Helps determine whether I can use the "plug and play" AMP Research set up.

The boards themselves will not be hard to fit, some slight shimming should put them at the right angle--just working out the trigger signals.

connector b10 on the Body control ECU gets a signal from front LH door. pin 15 is the driver front door. Wire color Grey-Red

both left doors are on connector b10, both right doors are on b11- This is all from the EWD on TIS for a 2004 double cab

Not an OBD2 guru but the attached pic is 2005 DC, it does somewhat follow what @empty_lord posted.

EUREKA! Thank you. I'm like a dog watching television when it comes to wiring diagrams--not to mention trying to muddle through with the 05-06 FSM for a 2004.

With this info, and a little more investigating, I should not need the "plug and play" model.

Dan, the boards will be arriving this week. Any chance your diagram lists the colors for the other doors? Or if it is a ground signal versus a +?

Thanks! I may just tap into the courtesy switches, but that does require a little more wire running.

I do appreciate your remembering. My mind is a bit scattered right now, but I'll finish with the hard pain meds tomorrow, so I should be more clear. Miserable, but more clear :)

Thanks for that @empty_lord, at least now I know the 05-06 FSM pdf I have is like an 04 in some respects. Still hoping to run across an actual downloadable 04 FSM :fingerscrossed:

Toho, I take it you still feel like a dog watching television when it comes to wiring diagrams

Absolutely. In fact, my dog may get more out of the television--but these help a bunch. Printing them out in color so I can lay them out and put together a plan for tapping the signal for the running boards.

Bubba, if you ever do find a FSM that covers the 2004 Double Cab, I'm IN! Frustrating to "discover" the little differences after you are already elbow deep in a project.

Please do the same @Tohopko , I have run across many downloads specific to 00-03 and 05-06 but only bits and pieces of 04. Even using Google search for "RM1091U1 filetype: Pdf", I was some what shocked I came up empty. I now bounce between the 00-03 and 05-06 when I have issues or to offer assistance and at least get close enough. It's almost as if we are a stepchild o_O

Wonder if a Sequoia manual might be of more use?

I broke down and bought the full paper copies, $180ish from E-bay. If you need something specific looked up, let me know and I'll work on it.
