I have had my 20 Platinum for a few weeks and I noticed an issue with locking the vehicle.
I have been talking with Toyota and I'm not getting a solution other than I have to keep my head lights in the off position for it to lock properly.
When I turn off the truck and get out/close the door the door handle sensor will not lock the truck for 10 seconds( when the lights on the inside dim out)
Is any one else having the issue?

Did you swap your interior bulbs and cargo lights for LEDs?

Yes. Having LEDs in the cargo lights in the 3rd brake light affect the receptor in the shark fin. Turn your cargo lights to always off and try that. If my cargo lights go on or off when opening/closing doors or starting and turning the vehicle off, I will not be able to lock it until the cargo lights turn off.

    I will try that.
If that is the case I will just put the factory cargo bulbs back in.

I may have misread and you're more concerned about the auto locking feature on the door handle. I didnt even know my 2020 Limited had this.

Apparently higher end (ie. More expensive LED kits) dont cause this interference. To me, my $20 Amazon kit sufficed and I just only turn the cargo lights on when I need something in the bed.

They offer a brighter set if that's your thing. This is plenty bright (I have grey leather and interior so it reflects a lot of the light and looks brighter).

I have a 2020 TRD Sport with touch handle locks. I have LED bulbs in the interior, license plate lights, reverse lights and cargo area. Pretty much everywhere except for the visors. My handles work as they should and I always leave my headlights set to auto. Sounds like there is an issue with yours.

So far it is working with the cargo light turned off but I'm gonna keep an eye on it.
I still have Toyota looking into it.
I feel like I'm getting some run around because they don't seem to know why this is happing either.
The Platinum they have on the lot is doing the same thing.
I'm gonna put the factory bulbs in and see what it does.
    Thanks for your comments.

Sorry, this is not an auto locking function it is the touch sensor on the door handle for locking purposes.

Thanks for all of the responses, it was the LED cargo lights causing the problem.
I installed the factory bulbs Friday and have not had anymore issues.

ERROR: LED CAUSING TOUCH SENSITIVE LOCKING HANDLE IN 2020 TUNDRA TO NOT WORK FIX

For those of you that have a 2020 Tundra and have swapped your interior bulbs and/or cargo bulbs for LEDs and have experienced the locking issue, I have found a jerry rigged fix. I too changed them out for LEDs and had the issue. I researched to find out what was causing this problem and found only this thread. Once I knew what was causing the problem I dug in a little further to find a temporary fix until Toyota decides to have one of their famous recalls to truly fix the issue. My original plan was to swap out every halogen bulb for LED including the brake, reverse and turn lights. When I swapped out the Taillight turn bulb it had hyper flash. Not a surprise but I can not find a 921 bulb that has a LED resistor built in. The canbus LEDs do not fix hyper flash. I do not want to T tap my wiring harness with a load resistor so I can retain my warranties. So I looked for a 921 plug and play load resistor so I might install my LED turn lights in the tails. I bought a set of the plug and play load resistors. When they arrived I noticed that they were not made to be used as a socket replacement. So because they did not work for my turn lights I decided to use them in my dome light to see if it changed the locking issue. I had my Cargo lights off and Dome lights on, tried to lock it and it worked. I was able to lock and unlock the truck from the handle and key fob over and over again. So I turned on my cargo light to see if it also fixed it there. It had the issue again once the cargo LEDs were on. So I put the other load resistor in the cargo socket and tried again. It worked. I was able to lock and unlock again.

Long story, but the final outcome was that 921 LED plug and play load resistors fixed the issue for me as long as one was used in the dome light and one used for the cargo light. It does not need one for each individual bulb. Just one for one bulb. I put mine in the Passenger rear dome, and Passenger cargo. I hope that if any of you decide to try this fix for yourselves that it works for you as well.

I took off the dome light completely to work on it. First I wrapped the large metal piece on the resistor in electrical tape so it doesn’t touch metal and possibly cause problems. But I put it up top above the dome light in the roof area and turned the resistor to where it would fit in between the support beam seen in the photos that is right above the light location. And I had to ditch the flimsy metal shield because I couldn’t get it to fit around the bulb where it had to sit to make this work. But when the plastic cover is back on, you can’t even tell that anything was done. It looks like OEM with led replacements. I will upload pictures of where I put the one in the cargo light next.

For the Cargo lights, there are holes above and below the socket. I also wrapped the large metal piece of the resistor in electrical tape. I wiggled the resistor into the top hole space. I then zip tied the bulb side socket of the resistor to the plug side wire to keep it center and from moving about. It is a very tedious process but for those of us that want that LED life, it is well worth the time and effort to have everything work right.78D2AA2E-4540-4FE0-9FA0-3899C76540E1.jpgAE465397-45E3-4E95-92F1-FFF899088A3F.jpg 62B52BAD-0B50-411B-B80C-99EB832E9CDF.jpg101F5FD8-5A51-42D4-9897-4D950E28575E.jpg
