After about 30 miles and 5 stops, the burning oil smell is dissipating. I think it's just burning off residual oil now.

Hey guys, I have a question.
Do I have to drain the coolant to remove the intake manifold on a 5.7 liter? Some rats got into my knock sensor wires, just wondering before I have to drain my coolant.
And should I replace my intake manifold gaskets while I’m at it?
    Thanks!

Bumping this old post. I wonder why people say the starter replacement is so difficult. Looks like you have to pull the throttle body first but is it really that bad after that? Can you pull the intake manifold in an hour?

I know this is a year old but I think you put your spark plug tube seals in upside down. Probably wont be to big of a deal but something to keep an eye on.

I just pulled the 2 nuts and 2 bolts to remove the TB from the intake. I bet I can have it off in 45 minutes now.

They're the same. I didn't realize it had those stupid tabs that have to bend down.

While we are talking valve covers, does anyone have the part number for the washers with the rubber on the bottom that holds down the cover? There are 18 of them. My local dealer gave me the part number but it is for the flat washers for the head bolts.

    Thanks......

I believe it's 90210-07001. Double check me, I've just started researching all the OEM P/Ns.

    11213-50031 Gasket - qty= 1

    1214-50011 Gasket - qty = 1

    11193-70010 Tube Seal - qty = 8

    Thanks for the quick reply.

That website came back with the cover gaskets not fitting my truck.

These are what it gave me.

I copied in your washer part number and it came back as "not for my vehicle."
    Huummmmm

Side rant.....I have been working on machines for 35+ years and have never seen such a crappy online parts lookup. Even the old days of micro-fiche was better.

Sorry, my bad...I was searching for my Land Cruiser. Same engine, but perhaps slightly different P/Ns. I share your frustration with the parts look up.
