There is no definite for zerks per my Toyota chassis buddy. So have them, some don't.

You could add your own.....many do.

Oh and three (3) pumps MAX, especially the driveshaft.

My 2017 has none. I think they changed sometime during the 2017 model year. On the rear.

Interesting thanks for posting, I haven't looked yet since I only have just over 2000 miles but I'd assume no 2019 has zerks?

I was just under there adding a carrier bearing drop kit and didn’t see any zerks on my 2019 CM TRD Sport.

Curious about this as well. I have a 2019 CM 4x4. Do 2019 and 2020 not have zerks?

I've read that you shouldn't mix 2 separate grease types. I'm not sure what is in my u joints now (183k miles). Should I remove and clean all the old grease out of my u joints and use the grease I have on hand? I have a few tubes of Schaeffer 238 ngli#2

I had an incident on my first gen. I greased the slip yoke(on the rear for first gen) and didn't realize there can be too much. I eventually undid the zerk to relieve pressure and the shaft slipped back to where it's supposed to be. Too much pressure there will wreck your carrier bearing.

Interesting to hear there are no zerks in the most recent years of production. My manual still says to check/lube them every service.

I'm late to the party, my 2017 SR5 Crewmax doesn't have any zerks on the rear drive shaft. None on the yokes or u joint body, I checked all three u joints. I haven't checked my front shaft yet. My manual also says to lube the shaft every 30k.

My 2016 has 3 on the rear drive shaft, none on the front. Interesting how many variations there are out there.

Anyone know if toyota would be able to tell by VIN if truck has zerks or not? I know i can just crawl under there but for curiousity, wondering how well this is documented for toyota since it seems that there SHOULD be zerks, per the manual.

I think 2018 was the last year with Zerks on the drivelines. From what I recall, some 2017s-2018s have them and some don't. I don't think any Tundra 2019 and newer has Zerks.

Thanks for that. I will try to confirm when i put on my new skids later this week. Would it be correct to assume that if you dont have zerks, your U joints would be more sturdy when compared to greasable u joints and thus, would likely last well past 100k miles without needing service?

I don't think the U-joints would be any different other than not having the fitting to add grease. I'd think they should be gtg at least 100k miles but I'm sure the level of use/abuse one sees could make that interval longer or shorter. Let's be honest, I'd bet 50% of the Tundras with Zerks never get serviced so I'd try not to worry too much about it.

I would say that is a fair statement. The main reason for my question i guess was because i am going to be adding some mid body skid plates to cover the cats and I was going to try to come up with a mounting solution to make it easier to take on and off if i was going to be needing to grease the U joints. If i can confirm there are no zerks, then it would make mounting much easier to not have to worry about regular removal of plates to get to zerks.

I just installed RCI skids two weekends ago and thought the same about having to remove both of them to service my front diff and t-case in 15,000 miles. I'll grease the u-joints then. Glad I bought aluminum rather than steel.

:D Yeah, there is probably one short, chubby, myopic purchasing agent with thick glasses, in a basement office somewhere in Toyota, USA, that has that piece of information right on the front of his brain! All other such inquires to others are wasted breath.
