Those of you that have added USB ports or the Wireless Charging, it looks like you guys tapped into an existing source like a cigarette lighter port. Do you also put in a fuse in line with whatever you are putting in and if so, what size fuse?

So I am asking a dumb question? Does anyone add an inline fuse when they tap into the cigarette lighter for an additional usb port or when they add the wireless charging mod?

Most people are going with the SE toyota wireless charger these days and it comes with a plug and play adapter with an inline fuse.

Wireless charger has an in-line fuse in the harness. I’m replacing my rear 12v with the oem dual usb here shortly and well... it has the factory fuse? I used blue sea dual usbs on a few other vehicles and never added a fuse. Didn’t see the point. Never an issue

I have usb type c for mine because of work equipment. Those lighter sockets are fused already. I am going to add always on battery one that does not turn off with the ignition though and since its new wiring it will get its own fuse.
