Over the holiday sales I picked up some vleds for my 3rd brake light (2 white and 1 red) and white reverses for the taillights and v6 triton for the turns in the taillights. I also picked up some spyder led taillights 51C57F23-C1F5-463B-BDCE-4CB76104BBF9.jpg

my question is should I have the negative terminal of the battery disconnected and then install everything and reconnect it? Or should I disconnect and reconnect it after I install each individual led? Seems tedious but I’m not trying to blow and fuses! Thanks for y’all’s expertise

from my perspective it’s been people using metal screwdrivers to pop out the bulbs that experience the problems with blowing fuses. I did mine with all lights on so I knew they were in correct position, used plastic trim tool to pop out, 12 min job...

    My vote....

Remove the negative, install a light, dry fit attach negative battery terminal, test light and repeat for each one.

9 out of every 10 threads in the lighting section regarding issues, could be avoided by doing this

Worked for my interior lights and took about an extra 5min on the entire job, maybe.

Don't chance it...."disconnect and reconnect it after I install each individual led"

Thanks guys! Tomorrow I’ll be sure to disconnect and reconnect the battery after each bulb and use a plastic panel popper instead of a screwdriver

I did the same method. Very easy and takes an extra 5 minutes. Zero issues since the install (3 days and counting).

Have your key fob with you when you reconnect the battery. Your alarm may go off......mine does. When I did my battery change I just unplugged the connectors for the horns.
