I carry the ARB portable compressor in mine. definitely a must for airing back up after wheeling or fixing a puncture on the road

I use them for work all the time. They’re pretty durable. If you’re going to leave it outside all the time you will need to drain the tank several times a year... condensation builds up in there pretty quick. I empty ours once a month or so.... and always get a couple ounces of water from each one. It’s fine for airing up but it’ll take awhile and will be running a lot to do it.

I have one in the garage. I actually used it the other day at Wally world to help someone with a flat bc it was still in the truck at the time. I have the Undercover tonneau so I was looking at getting another one to keep in there full time. At 100 bucks and 150 psi, I dont think it's a bad idea.

How does that work when it gets all covered in mud, I see the cap on the connector, but what about the compressor?

I avoid mud, I hate mud lol. If it were covered that bad though I wouldn’t use it without hosing it down (I have on board water too when I wheel and for camping trips). The cap comes off and replacement filters are pretty cheap. I always carry a couple spares just in case.

I have it located there for the rear locker. Lot of guys running the same setup with no issues.

What are you planning to use it for?

Check that the SCFM rate is sufficient for your use.

Now that I'm thinking about it, what power inverter do you guys recommend? Also, even though it will be under my Undercover, should I keep the tank empty or have some pressure built up.....I dont know which would be better for condensation or if it even matters. Thanks.

I wouldn’t leave it pressurized all the time but if you’re using it for the day I’d have it cycle and get to 140PSI or whatever it’ll fill to at home and then put it in the truck. I don’t know that I’d personally use and inverter... I’d rig it with some jumper cables to connect directly to the battery and just hook it up when needed. I don’t know the exact surge amps when the units start up, but it’s pretty substantial.
